Zap zits the natural way
Awhile back, I heard a makeup artist speak very highly of a homemade remedy that she used to get rid of breakouts in a flash. Since most anything chemical-free makes me happy, I was definitely intrigued.
And when a little breakout appeared on my face last month (thank you, female hormones), I decided to test out the remedy for myself.
All you have to do is combine tiny bit of dry active yeast and one squeeze of lemon in a cup. Mix them together until they form a paste and apply to the spot with a Q-tip or your finger. The yeast supposedly helps to dry out the pimple, and the lemon helps to prevent scarring and reduce redness.
I slept with the paste on the spot overnight, and it was almost completely gone the next morning. No joke.
To be sure that it wasn’t just a fluke, I’ve tried it two other times since then, and it was effective both times.
Clearly, I couldn’t keep the secret to myself. It’s amazing!
Unfortunately, like many things that sound too good to be true, this little concoction does have two drawbacks…
It smells. Bad.
If you sleep with it on, it can also tend to flake off throughout the night like dry little crumbs. In fact, Michael made up the bed the other morning and asked me if I was eating cookies in bed.
If you can get past the stink and the flakes (which you can avoid by applying it for a few hours during the day), I highly suggest that you try it- especially if you have a breakout popping up before a big event. If you do try it, let me know if it worked for you!
Do you have a homemade remedy for banishing pimples or treating your skin? If so, please share!
Have a great day!
