Dunkin Donuts craving & Petunia Pickle Bottom

When Michael and I would walk along the beach in Aruba, we’d stroll by a Dunkin Donuts that was located on the pier.

Unfortunately, we were never carrying money with us at the time, so we obviously couldn’t get anything.

Even though I loved loved loved the breakfast buffet at the resort, I always felt slightly tortured when I’d see a couple walking back to their room with Dunkin Donuts coffee and those little brown bags.

The craving stuck with me even after we returned home, so I naturally made a Dunkin Donuts run yesterday morning.

My mom is a huge fan of their decaf iced coffee, so I picked one up for her and drove over to my parent’s house for a little visit over coffee (and a multi-grain bagel).

By the way, check out the adorable new diaper bag by Petunia Pickle Bottom that she gave to me when I was there!

Even though I already purchased one, I have a feeling that I’ll definitely need a back-up diaper bag.

I absolutely love the bag, which can also be used as a backpack, and I especially love how much fun it is to say “Petunia Pickle Bottom” over and over again.

I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s fun, can I?

Back to breakfast…

This morning’s breakfast is protein pancakes- something else that I missed while we were away.  However, those Belgium waffles at the breakfast buffet were something I could have easily eaten every morning for life!

Protein pancakes are certainly much healthier though.

I actually made them with unsweetened applesauce today rather than mashed banana, and they were fantastic.   I’d definitely recommend trying them that way.  I’m sure that I’ll eat them like this a lot during the fall months.

Are you a fan of Dunkin Donuts?  If not, where is your favorite place to get coffee?  When I lived up north, there was a Dunkin Donuts everywhere I turned, so it was a big shock to me when I moved down here and they were nowhere to be seen.  I actually grew to like Caribou and Panera coffee a lot though.  Starbucks is too strong for me!   Oh and don’t worry- I am drinking decaf these days. ;)

I’ll be back later this afternoon with a post on how I managed to stay (relatively) healthy in Aruba.   I hope you all have a great morning!

(PS- A HUGE congrats to my friend Kirsten who recently found out that she is also expecting a baby boy!)

  1. Good morning! I love DD, but I rarely get to visit because whenever I am nearby one of the two that are close to my house, there’s never time to stop. Coffee and a bagel sounds like a real win today!

  2. I love that you and your sister are expecting at the same time! Your both so lucky. Your going to lean on each other so much during the trial & tribulations that come along with parenting….better yet- the kids will be so close!

I LOVE ME SOME DUNKIN DOUGHNUTS ICED CINNAMON COFFEE!!!

I had one every morning (decaf) while pregnant along with a coffee cake muffin (not every monring on the muffin!)

  3. My home town doesn’t have a grocery store but we have 6 Dunkins. I think the hardest part about living abroad is the fact that I can’t get my DD fix!

    • I felt like I was living abroad when I first moved down south and couldn’t find one! Luckily, they are starting to pop up all over now. :)

  4. That bag is so cute!!

    • Thank you! I like this one because it is a bit girlier than the other one. Plus, I’d like to think of them as purses vs. diaper bags. It makes it more fun. :)

  5. MMmmm donuts… you’ve inspired me to make a trip this morning. Krispey Kreme is right around the corner… I hope I don’t regret it afterwards! :]
