Doctor’s appointment & more nursery progress
This morning, I had to fast for my glucose screening (which I did not appreciate), so I packed up some overnight oats to eat right after my appointment.
(This consists of oats, chia seeds, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla protein powder, and blueberries.)
Well, it turns out that I just had a normal appointment with my OBGYN today, and I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes! Certainly no complaints here.
I was there long enough to see this in my US Weekly though, and of course, it made me happy.
Unfortunately, I am not off the hook with my glucose screening though. It’s scheduled for August 13th.
My routine appointment went really well today. I got to hear the baby’s heartbeat, and it was nice and strong.
I told my doctor that I feel fantastic, but I’ve been having this really painful feeling in my stomach- kind of like the skin was stretching or something. It bothered me the whole time we were in Aruba, but it has felt better over the past few days.
I showed the doctor where the pain was coming from and told him that I assumed it was just round ligament pain.
He smiled at me and said, “That’s not round ligament pain. You’re feeling your baby.”
Suddenly, the pain went from annoying to awesome.
And then the doctor said, “You’re on the home stretch now. All you have to do is sit back and wait.”
Obviously, I already knew that I was getting close, but hearing my doctor say it was a huge reality check!
I think it will truly feel real once the nursery is all done. The furniture should arrive in just a few short weeks!
Speaking of our nursery, we’ve made a bit of progress lately. You can see the before shots here and here.
This is what it looks like today…
The wall color is called Shaker Beige by Benjamin Moore. I love that it is calm and neutral yet bright at the same time.
(The door that you see leads into his bathroom- which is also a work in progress at the moment.)
We also got the wall art, which will go above the crib, from Etsy. I’m going to bring the prints to Michael’s soon to get them matted and framed.
Etsy has been a lifesaver as far as things for the baby. It is seriously a goldmine!
Are you a fan of Etsy? Who are your favorite sellers? They don’t have to be baby-related. ![]()
Have a great weekend!

I love those animal prints! Etsy is such a goldmine for baby stuff — and everything else, really. Some of my favorite baby-related sellers are Laundry Monster, Oh Little Rabbit, applenamos, MargauxMakes, Parker and Posie, Trafalgar’s Square, and mylilmarket. Just to name a few…
Ooh, thanks for all of the recommendations! I am going to check them out (as though I need more encouragement to shop).
