Part one: Weekend recap (date night & pool time)
Good morning!
I hope that everyone had a fun weekend. My weekend was just perfect- even though I kept thinking about the fact that last weekend I was vacationing in paradise.
Then again, home is pretty much paradise to me.
On Friday night, I originally planned to serve up some leftovers for dinner, but while I was exercising, I kept thinking about how nice it would be to have dinner at Brixx.
(Am I the only one who thinks of food during their workouts?)
So, I called Michael and asked him out on a date. Luckily, he happily accepted.
I ordered the Mediterranean salad (minus the feta cheese) with grilled salmon. I love their salmon (which is probably what triggered my urge to go there).
On Saturday morning, I took a 5-mile power walk and then had a bowl of Kashi cereal with fruit and chia seeds. I’ve been in a breakfast rut, so I decided to switch things up (more about that in a future post…).
After breakfast, I took a little drive to Earth Fare, one of my very favorite places. I swear that I could walk around that store for hours.
I was actually pretty well-behaved though and only walked out with:
- Aloe vera juice
- Larabars (Cookie Dough & Cashew Cookie)
- Uber bars (Roasted Nut Roll)
- KIND bar (Almond & Apricot)
- Vegan mozzarella (which was surprisingly amazing!)
- Vegenaise (something we can never go without in our household)
After a lunch of avocado, red onion, romaine, and tomato on sprouted rye bread with a side of cantaloupe, Michael and I spent the rest of the afternoon in our neighborhood pool.
It was such a beautiful day for it, and the water was nice and warm- just the way I like it. We mainly did lots of people watching, and Michael managed to consume a few beers.
What was the best part of your weekend?
Are there any stores that could keep you occupied for hours on end? Aside from Earth Fare, I could definitely kill some time in Target.
Stay tuned for part 2 of my weekend recap later this afternoon!

Looks like such a fun weekend!
Love the pictures and all the food descriptions!
I’m so glad that you liked the post! I hope that you had a great weekend too.
Great snapshot of your weekend! Good for you for working out (I didn’t get to that this weekend) ;(
Stopping in from SITS. Best part of my weekend was a BNL concert on Friday.
Thanks so much for visiting! I am sure the concert was great!
My God girl, 5 miles?! I can barely walk 10 minutes these days without feeling like I may go into labor. And sorry I haven’t called you back yet, had my shower this weekend and friends in town so been crazy busy but will definitely give you a ring soon, miss you!!
Haha. I’ve still had lots and lots of energy for the most part and have been working out everyday. Now that I am in the third trimester, I am sure that will all fade away though! I hope your shower was awesome. Cannot wait to chat!
