Shopping for baby & chicken kabobs with farmers market veggies
It was a pretty successful trip!
I managed to find a table lamp (and I’ve been looking around for awhile) and a throw for the glider (figuring it would come in handy for me during those middle-of-the-night feedings). I also bought some baby wipes and hangers for his closet.
And I simply couldn’t resist buying a little Halloween outfit.
The entire outfit was only $6, so I figured that it won’t be too much of a waste for something that he’s just going to wear indoors for a few hours- or even at all, if I’m overdue!
Earlier this afternoon, I sat outside with my lunch. Well, I didn’t just sit with it. I ate it too.
Anyway, I absolutely love eating outdoors during the summertime- even though most of the time, Michael tells me that it is too hot.
You’d think the pregnant woman would be the one to say that, wouldn’t you?
I made a delicious sandwich with farmers market veggies and avocado and had some fresh cherries on the side.
There is seriously nothing better than fresh produce in the summer. Something about eating them just makes me feel so good!
Speaking of which, we really utilized our weekend farmers market haul at dinnertime last night.
I also made a salad consisting of two farmers market tomatoes and ten basil leaves, a few chunks of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and a dash of sea salt and pepper.
For my portion, I left out the regular mozzarella and used my vegan mozzarella instead.
It was the perfect summertime dinner! A glass of sangria would have made it truly perfect though…
I really really wish that I had a green thumb and could plant vegetables and herbs in my garden. I tried to grow some herbs last summer, and it was a disaster. I’m the kiss of death when it comes to plant life.
Do you grow your own herbs and/or veggies? If so, do you have any tips for me? I need all of the help that I can get!
