Part two: Weekend recap (Main Street Grill and TCBY)
(Part one of my weekend recap is here.)
And hello again!
While Friday night brought Krispy Kreme, Saturday morning started with a nice 5-mile power walk and a very healthy breakfast (though I cannot recall what I ate exactly!).
Michael and I purchased a Groupon to a restaurant called Main Street Grill several months ago, and we decided that Saturday afternoon would be the perfect time to use it.
Plus, neither of us had ever been there, and we were in the mood to try someplace new.
The deal included an appetizer and two lunch entrees, so Michael ordered the mozzarella sticks to start. He also had a burger and fries (I “borrowed” a few of them), and I ordered a grilled chicken salad solely based on the fact that it came with honey mustard.
I swear that I could drink honey mustard these days.
It was a very relaxed, low-key kind of a place, and we both really enjoyed it. Not to mention that after using the Groupon, our total was just three dollars.
After lunch, we went back to our neighborhood pool.
Even though the weather was really nice, there weren’t many people there, which we definitely enjoyed for a change!
The theme of the weekend must have been food and new restaurants because we tried another new-to-us restaurant on Sunday morning called Di-Dee’s Diner.
The diner is literally just a few seconds from our house. We’ve both passed it a million times yet never stopped in.
I was super tired on Sunday morning and slept in pretty late for me (more on that tomorrow), so it was nice to have a late breakfast that didn’t involve cooking or doing dishes at home.
I ordered a veggie omelet with egg whites and a side of whole wheat toast. Much like I “borrowed” his fries the day before, Michael “borrowed” my home fries on Sunday.
Later that day, a pregnant (!!) Brittney and I went to TCBY. She picked me up at my house, so we could ride there together.
I was really excited because she brought her dog Clyde along.
It was the first time that Clyde and Lucy had ever met, and Lucy terrorized the poor fella!
Even though she was just really excited to meet him, Lucy clearly needs to work on her social skills a bit.
Since my heartburn has been so bad lately, I skipped my usual sorbet and went with white chocolate cheesecake yogurt- even though I knew that it would possibly bother my stomach (so far, so good).
Ordering ice cream was a really good decision on my part because it was delicious, and I remained heartburn free for the rest of the night.
And once again, it was delicious (so much, in fact, that it needed to be stated twice).
What was the best thing that you ate all weekend?
I’ll be back tomorrow with a bump shot!
