Labor day weekend recap

Hi there!

Did everyone have a nice long weekend?

I certainly did!  The rest of our furniture arrived for the nursery on Saturday, and we absolutely love it.  There are just a few more things to do now, such as hang the wall art, put the curtains up, and wait for our area rug to arrive.

Michael and I constantly go in the room and just admire it.  It is so crazy to believe that our little baby will be occupying that space soon!

On Saturday, we also took a drive to Camden, South Carolina (home of the Carolina Cup), and we had lunch at a cute little restaurant called Carolina Cafe.

After lunch, we explored the town a bit…

We saw some gorgeous old homes and the cutest fire station in the world.

It even had its own little private garden.

I love the town’s slogan (which is displayed on all of the street poles):  “Grab life by the reigns.”

Perfect for a horse racing town, isn’t it? :)

On our drive home, we passed something that has fascinated me for a few years now…

(I somehow managed to snap this photo while the car was moving at over 60 mph!)

These two bikes have been alongside the highway for ages.  There used to be a “For Sale” sign in front of them, but I guess that the owners just want someone to take them now.

I keep on waiting for the day when we drive past the spot, and the bikes are gone (although I highly doubt those bikes are functional anymore).

The rest of the weekend consisted of more scenic drives (where we got to witness a cow peeing), lots of relaxation, and good food, including a notable trip to IHOP (they actually have a lot of healthier options now!).

When we were leaving the restaurant, some man looked at my belly and said, “Wow!  You sure ate a lot!”

Actually, lots of strangers have been making comments about my bump lately.  I guess that I really look pregnant these days or something.  ;)

I’m keeping my eyes peeled today for George Clooney, who is supposedly in town for the DNC.  A George sighting would be even more exciting than spotting a peeing cow (which is quite the scene, by the way).

What did you do over the weekend?

Have you ever had a celebrity sighting?

Have a great day!

  1. I am glad to hear the nursery is coming together for you guys. I have to agree seeing Clooney would be better than a cow peeing (but I grew up on a farm, so nothing special for me). I have had my fair share of celebrity sightings and the coolest was briefly seeing Aerosmith (had to be escorted through the kitchen I was working in because they were mobbed by fans and had to escape). Have a Great Week:)
