Weekend recap (first baby shower)
On Saturday, I went to my first of three baby showers.
That’s right, we’re lucky enough to have a whole bunch of wonderful people in our lives who wanted to throw us showers.
This first shower was hosted by some sweet friends of my mother-in-law.
Since Michael pretty much grew up with the children of the women who attended, he was invited too- and even missed the South Carolina football game for it.
Now that’s a great daddy right there.
All of the women at the shower kept asking him to look up different game scores on his phone though, so he was able to follow along with the game a tiny bit while we were there.
We started things off with some yummy cake which was decorated in little blue baby booties.
Even the daisies, which we got to take home with us, were blue!
The baby received so many generous gifts, such as a onesie with our last name on the butt, a knitted dinosaur, and a beautiful bath towel that a neighbor of my in-laws actually made herself.
Michael even had special presents to open for the baby, including the world’s tiniest baseball glove.
Here’s the glove holding a regular-sized baseball.
Isn’t it adorable?
The rest of the weekend was pretty low-key. We watched The Five-Year Engagement starring Emily Blunt (one of my favorite actresses) and Jason Segel (who I will always love for bringing back The Muppets).
It wasn’t the best movie ever, but it was definitely entertaining and worth watching.
On Sunday morning, we had breakfast at Panera Bread, and I ordered the Power Breakfast Sandwich (minus the ham and cheese) and a side of fruit.
We used to go there every weekend but mixed things up and started to try new places instead.
I suppose that means we’re not predictable all of the time.
How did you spend your weekend? Do you like going out for breakfast?
Have a great rest of the day!
