Baby update & Trader Joe’s haul (10/10)
Happy Wednesday!
Well, things have been interesting around here lately.
I’ve been having more frequent and stronger contractions for the past several days, and I cannot even count how many times I’ve Googled “early warning signs of labor” since the weekend.
Yesterday was my weekly OB appointment, and I decided to bring my hospital bag along with me- just in case the doctor decided to send me off to the hospital.
When I spoke with the nurse, she seemed to think there was a good chance that I’d be delivering soon, and I started to get really excited and anxious. The doctor confirmed that the baby’s head felt even lower than it did last week and that I’m over 2 centimeters dilated and about 80% effaced at this point.
While those are all positive signs that I’ll be delivering before too long, I’m still playing the waiting game at the moment.
I was basically told that it could happen any minute now- but obviously, there’s no way to predict exactly when the little guy will make his grand entrance into the world.
In the meantime, I’m still wrapping some things up around the house and making sure that I get plenty of relaxation. In fact, I plan to give myself a manicure and watch a movie this afternoon.
Earlier in the week, I went to Trader Joe’s for possibly the last time- at least for a few weeks.
Here’s what I got…
(As always, you can see the other items that I purchased here as part of my weekly staples list.)
- Bigelow Pumpkin Spice tea (OK- this isn’t from Trader Joe’s, but I had to share anyway.)
- Pumpkin soup (Has anyone tried this? I’m saving it, but I’m dying to know if it’s any good.)
- Corn chile
- Black Beans
- Country Pumpkin Spice Granola cereal
- Organic cherry tomatoes
- White Chocolate Macadamia Luna bar
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Larabar
- Apple Pie Larabar
- Organic ketchup
- Organic quinoa
- Rolled oats
- Lemon pepper grinder
- Organic Bartlett pears
- Kale
Michael and I are meeting for lunch today at a Mexican restaurant. I’m going to order something very spicy as an attempt to move this whole labor process along!
Hope you have a great day!
(PS- Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook and/or Twitter for updates on the baby- that is, if you want to be updated.)
