Some of my favorite skincare products (giveaway closed)

This giveaway is now closed, and a winner has been randomly selected and announced.  Thanks to all those who entered!

The skin on my face has a tendency to get really dry.  Most of the time, it simply feels tight and dehydrated, but other times, my face is visibly dry, dull, and very flaky.

Not attractive.

The normal things like moisturizing, drinking lots of water, taking supplements, and avoiding products containing alcohol help a bit to keep the dryness at bay, but uncontrollable things like cold weather and hormonal changes leave me defenseless…and peeling.

Once again, not attractive.  At all.

It wasn’t until I learned more about using oils- both internally and externally- that I was able to banish my dry skin (hopefully forever).

As a product junkie, I love trying new beauty and skincare items.  However, I have no desire to stray from any of the things that I am currently using.  I’ve truly found my holy grail products.

So what does my full, current, skincare routine look like?

Well, I plan to do two detailed posts all about it next week which will cover both my morning and nighttime routines.

In the meantime, I will tell you that sea buckthorn oil is one of the primary oils that I use today.  You can read my post all about it here.

And that brings me to the giveaway…

One lucky reader will receive the Sea Buckthorn Anti-Dryness Kit from SeabuckWonders.  It includes three of my very favorite products and is valued at nearly $80.

All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling me how you fight fry skin during the winter.

You’ll get bonus entries for liking my Facebook page and/or tweeting about the giveaway.  Just be sure to leave separate comments letting me know about your additional entries.

The winner will be announced on Friday, February 8, 2013.

Good luck!

(All opinions stated above are my own.  Although SeabuckWonders will provide the giveaway prize, I have not been compensated in any way.)

  1. I use a humidifier (didn’t start that until I had a baby and she had dry skin though!).

  2. I need a good night routine. Trying to find a good undereye cream and face moisturizer. I have always been a dabbler in face washes. I just got a clarisonic mia that I will use. In the morning I wash my face and use Eucerin Every Day Protection. Moisturizes and protects!

I believe in combating dryness from the inside out, for which I take flaxseed oil and eat fatty fish three times a week. Thanks for the generous giveaway, I heard many good things about sea buckthorn.

  12. Linda Bright

    Hi Erin,
I read your blog and went in search of the buckthorn berry oil to try internally. I could only find the external oil.
Due to the extreme dry air in my home, because of the heat for the winter months,my skin and hair is sooo dry. I thought this would help the dryness along with my lotion with spf in the morning and night cream in the am.
    Enjoy your blog,by the way

    Hi Linda!
I plan to do a post on taking the oil internally later this week, so be sure to check back! Thanks for visiting. :)

  17. My skin gets so dry in the winter here. I make sure to use cream with SPF in it.

  18. Would love to try these products. I feel especially dry and wrinkly since having my baby. It also doesn’t help that I live in the desert (Phoenix AZ). I usually try different natural moisturizers made for dry skin.

  19. Fanni Toth

I just had a baby 2 months ago, a wonderful baby boy born premature. We just got to bring him home from the hospital recently, so I need to keep our room extra warm for him since he came home from an incubator. So this makes my skin soooooo dry. My face, lips, arms and hands have never been this dry. I use a humidifier and drink lots, which is also needed because of the breast milk production.but I would love to try something new to solve this problem.

    I like you on facebook.

  21. At night, I moisturize my face with jojoba oil and wake up with soft skin. =)

  22. I keep the shower time short-so that it does not dehydrate the skin.
