Weekend recap (lots of family time)
I do realize that it is Wednesday, and for most people, last weekend is just a distant memory.
However, today actually feels like Monday to me because MT took a couple of extra days off from work. That is why I’m a bit late to the party with my weekend recap.
MT had been working extra long hours and traveling quite a bit, so I was really excited when he had the opportunity to spend some family time with Michael and me.
Much of the weekend was spent running errands, but even mandatory tasks are fun when I’m with the two loves of my life.
We originally planned to go to the zoo, but the weather just wasn’t on our side. We probably could have toughed it out, but Michael still isn’t over his cold. I definitely didn’t think it would be wise to drag a sick baby around in the rain all day long.
The weekend wasn’t completely consumed by errands though.
MT and I are massive fans of the University of South Carolina baseball team, so we decided to drive to Columbia on Tuesday to see a game.
Which is one way to keep that freshman 15 tradition alive I suppose.
We passed on the free food, but we couldn’t resist buying a Gamecocks hat for Michael.
It made him an instant showstopper for the rest of the day, and I was really glad to have it because it was pretty cold out there!
Fortunately, we came prepared with coats, gloves, scarves, and blankets.
One thing we didn’t consider?
I swear that every time a player hit a ball, I snapped into overprotective mother mode and tried to shield the baby with my entire body.
Even though MT was obviously looking out for us, I was fully prepared to take a ball to the head for my little one.
I’ve already had one concussion lately. What’s one more?
Thankfully, the Gamecocks won, and we left the stadium injury and concussion free.
After a yummy dinner at a restaurant in town called Liberty Tap Room & Grill, we headed back home.
It was a perfect long weekend, and what do you know? The next weekend is already just a few days away.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
