Weekend recap (lots & lots of food!)

My weekend consisted of lots of eating out in restaurants, and well…eating in general.

So, I apologize in advance if the pictures that you’re about to see make you hungry.

On Friday night, my family and I celebrated my father’s birthday by meeting for dinner at Wolfgang Puck.  I ordered a salad to start and really wanted to order the chicken and broccoli rabe pizza as my entree.

I wasn’t sure if they’d prepare it without cheese just for me, but the restaurant was so accommodating and took my dairy intolerance very seriously.  Not only did they leave the mozzarella off of my pizza, but they also replaced the sauce with marinara because the regular sauce included cheese.  I didn’t even know that the sauce contained dairy, so it was really nice of them to make the change on their own.

The menu also had some gluten-free options, so if you have any special dietary needs, Wolfgang Puck  is the place to go!

On Saturday, I got my hair cut again.  I just love having shorter hair.  It is so much easier, and because my hair is fine, it looks a lot thicker when it is on the shorter side.

I always feel like I’m wasting a perfectly good hair moment if I don’t go out somewhere after I leave the salon.

(Does anyone else feel that way?)

As luck would have it, MT and I had another date (sans baby) planned for that evening.

We decided to go to a restaurant called Brick Top’s for dinner.

They have the best guacamole, and since I’m an avocado addict, we ordered the chips, salsa, and guacamole appetizer.

For my main course, I had Ahi tuna with an avocado and mango salad.   Apparently, I didn’t get the avocado fix that I needed from just the guacamole.

We took our time and ordered some wine after dinner and just enjoyed being alone together.  Well, as alone as you can be in a crowded restaurant that is.

(I’m really into Riesling lately.)

Here’s a photo of me with my dinner- just in case you’ve forgotten what I look like.

After enjoying some cuddle time with the baby,  the three of us went to Rippington’s for lunch on Sunday.

I ordered a really delicious salad (the special of the day) with some of the best grilled chicken that I’ve ever had.

It was really cold out (by southern standards anyway), so I warmed up with some mint tea.

And of course, we concluded the weekend with our usual routine- only I’ve been eating salmon lately instead of steak.

(Alaskan salmon with olive oil, basil, salt, and pepper over baby spinach, mushrooms, red onions, cherry tomatoes, green olives, and roasted red peppers)

And you are correct to assume that the image you’re seeing in the upper left corner of the photo above is a glass of red wine (or as I now like to call it, Mommy Medicine).

Did you go out to eat over the weekend?  If so, what did you order?

Has anyone seen the movie Flight?  MT and I watched it last night and thought it was pretty good.  If you have to step foot on an airplane any time soon though, I’d highly recommend skipping it.  Trust me.

Happy Monday!
