Weekend recap (sunshine & friends)
Happy Monday!
I had such a fun weekend, so I’m just going to jump right on into my recap. You can expect to see my Mommy Monday post later today though, so check on back if you’re interested.
On Saturday evening, MT, a sleeping Michael, and I met up with our friends Sara and Kevin and their adorable 7 month old baby Elena at The Wine Shop for dinner (and wine obviously).
I ordered the mixed plate of olives with foccacia as an appetizer and shared it with the table.
Elena had quite an impressive appetite and seemed to enjoy the bread more than any of us!
If you’ve been reading this blog for more than a week, you won’t be even slightly surprised that I ordered salmon as my main entree.
After we all finished eating, my little one finally decided to wake up for some social interaction.
Michael was still in a fog from his nap (hence the giant yawn in the photo above), but Elena was so fascinated by him and kept reaching out to touch him.
Her daddy naturally didn’t appreciate his little girl’s flirting, but MT and I thought it was so cute.
On Sunday afternoon, Michael and I met up with Brittney and her new baby girl Allie at Blakeney.
It was ridiculously beautiful outside, so Brittney and I walked around with the babies and soaked up the sun and fresh air.
Of course, we couldn’t resist going into a few stores.
At just three weeks old, Allie is already well on her way to becoming a champion shopper. I mean, look at her. She can shop in her sleep!
Actually, both babies seem to have mastered that special talent…
After our usual Sunday dinner, MT and I watched Pitch Perfect because I was in the mood for a comedy.
Neither of us like Glee, so it probably wasn’t too smart to choose a two-hour long movie version of it. Any movie where the characters have a sing-off probably isn’t really for us.
I guess you can’t win ‘em all.
On a positive note, Rebel Wilson was as entertaining as ever. I’m turning into such a fan.
Have you watched any good comedy movies lately? I want to make sure that we don’t strike out again next Sunday!

So sorry I missed you guys yesterday! Looks like you had a fun weekend!
And yeah Pitch Perfect was not good, and this is coming from someone who loves Glee!
We missed you, Jen!
I’m glad that we’re not the only ones who hated that movie. I kept hearing how great it was, but we just didn’t get it.
If you like Rebel, then I’ve got your Sunday viewing covered for April 14th
She’s hosting our MTV Movie Awards, and I’ll be out there (missing my sweet baby) so tune in!!
That’s so awesome! If you meet her, tell her that I said hello. LOL.
Oh my gosh! You ladies and the babies are too cute! What a great weekend. Cheese and wine sounds pretty awesome right now
Thanks for linking up for Monday Morning Gossip.
You’re welcome! Thank you for hosting.
That food looks soooo good. I’m a salmon person too; it’s my default. And your baby and her friend are just too cute. Tiny friendships are the best!
Salmon is always my default! Sometimes I hate when it is on the menu because I know that I’ll order it and won’t try anything new. LOL.
And thank you.
Baby friendships are definitely priceless!
Oh no, not a Pitch Perfect or a Glee fan? I do agree that sing offs are a bit cheesy but a part of me can’t get enough of the Glee phenomenon. Nate and I actually watch the show called the Sing Off where it was acapella groups competing against one another, much like American Idol. Sadly, it’s cancelled. We are heartbroken.
Anyhow, I’m loving the pictures of your weekend. It might just be that I’m at that age, but it seriously feels like everyone’s having adorable babies… and it may or may not have me thinking about it!
I think I may be able to shop in my sleep, too. Dangerous talent
