Weekend Earth Fare haul
As a health-conscious person, sometimes I get the uncontrollably urge to go to health food stores like Whole Foods and Earth Fare. It might sound a bit odd to some people, but I just love strolling through those stores and discovering new healthy foods.
Well, I was struck with the urge on Sunday, so Michael and I made our way to Earth Fare that morning.
Here’s what we got…
Mediterranean Snacks Cracked Pepper Baked Lentil Chips (great with hummus)
Organic green chard (for making wraps)
Aloe vera juice (MT cannot get enough of this stuff!)
Cocomama Quinoa Cereal in honey almond
Good Food Made Simple steel cut oatmeal Frontera Chipotle Pumpkin Salsa
Wildbrine Dill & Garlic Sauerkraut Salad (so rich in probiotics, enzymes, and minerals)
Annie’s balsamic dressing
O’Dough’s gluten free sprouted whole grain flax bagel thins
I’ve been absolutely loving the Good Food Made Simple steel cut oatmeal for the past few weeks. In the mornings, I’ll heat it up in the microwave while I am getting Michael’s breakfast together, and I will always add a little fruit and some coconut sugar. It is the easiest breakfast for a busy mom because it takes less than 5 minutes to come together!
I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in both the quinoa cereal and the salsa. As far as the cereal goes, the honey almond flavor just wasn’t nearly as good as the banana one. Luckily, I only bought one packet. The salsa just isn’t what I had expected it to be. It isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. And it certainly doesn’t taste like pumpkin.
But I am happy to report that this trip to Earth Fare was a lot cleaner than our last one.
Have you made any trips to the health food store recently? If so, what did you get?
