Pregnancy update (14 weeks)
Since I’ve pretty much left you hanging since my pregnancy announcement, I thought a little update was in order.
As you know, the first trimester was pretty rough. I was extremely nauseated from the time I woke until I went to bed at night and could really only hold down about 1 meal a day and maybe a snack. Surprisingly enough, my weight stayed the same which is great.
For a long time, my favorite foods, such as salmon, popcorn, salads, and smoothies, were immediately rejected by my body, and I pretty much lived off of bagels and pumpkin spice lattes. Healthy living at its finest.
My incredible nausea has pretty much all but disappeared- though I do still get queasy every now and then (mostly in the evening).
Of course, I’ve been battling a cold for the past week or so (probably due to my poor diet as of late) which has zapped a lot of my energy. However, I think that once I kick this cold, I’ll be on top of the world.
As you can see, I do have a small baby bump already! It is amazing how quickly a woman shows with her second child. I don’t think my belly was this prominent until I was about 20 weeks along with Michael!
We’ll find out the gender of the baby in just 9 days (not that I’m counting down or anything…), and I cannot wait! Once we know if this little nugget is a boy or a girl, I’m going to start working on the nursery. We’re also switching Michael’s room to a larger room that will share a Jack and Jill bathroom with the nursery. Michael’s current room will be turned into a guest bedroom, so you’ll have a place to stay when you come to visit.
Basically, I’ll be pretty busy, but it should be fun!
I haven’t had many cravings other than hamburgers and sweet potato fries. I’m not sure if that will change, but it’s weird considering how many I had when I was pregnant the first time around.
That’s basically it for now, but let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great day!
