Weekend recap (date night & nursery progress)

Since our baby girl might be arriving much earlier than expected, MT and I kicked the nursery prep into overdrive this past weekend.

Things started off with a visit to Pottery Barn Kids on Friday afternoon where we ordered her furniture.

We went with the Larkin collection in simply white and chose the crib (which has apparently been marked down online since then!) , nightstand, and changing table.

Later that evening, MT and I went on a long overdue dinner date while my in-laws kindly watched Michael (who was already fast asleep well before they arrived).

Our reservation was at a really nice restaurant called Fish Market Seafood Bar & Grill.  When MT called to book it, I dared him to ask if they would be serving fish that night, but he didn’t go for it.

I love the warm atmosphere of the restaurant so much.  We were seated right near the fireplace which made for an even cozier dining experience.

As you’ll see, I definitely brought my appetite…

We had some bread, shared some shrimp cocktail, and I also had a delicious spinach salad.  I swear that there were like two pounds of spinach on that salad plate, and I could barely make a dent in it!

The Fish Market

MT ordered the surf and turf as his entree, and his lobster was incredible.  Yes, I stole a bite.

You won’t be shocked to know that I ordered salmon.  The sauce looks nasty in the photo, but it was actually really good.

The rest of the weekend involved shopping for more baby things.  We also checked the paint color, changing table pad, and bedding off of our list.  Most importantly, we decided on her name!

I think we’re going to mainly try to keep it a secret- although I love it so much that it won’t be easy.

Michael on the swings

The weather was incredible here on Sunday.  In fact, I probably could have worn shorts and would have been perfectly comfortable. We took full advantage with a family walk around the neighborhood and up to the playground.

This little boy sure does love the swings!

I hope that you all had a great weekend.  I hosted a brunch last week and plan to do a recap within the next few days, so look out for that post. :)

I am so glad that you like the furniture! I’m SO SO SO excited for it to arrive. :)

  2. LOVE the white crib! Looks as if it turns into a twin size bed, right? I bought one of those for my nephew (8-years old today!), of which my new niece (now 8-months, holy cow!) uses. Time flies, and you are no stranger to that, I’m sure. So sweet you are having a girl.

Hoping all goes well with mommy & baby, when the moment arrives xo

Yep! It will convert into a bed which will be great. :) Thank you for the well wishes! <3

  3. That bedding is so pretty! My bedding is white & grey so of course I love it. :) You crack me up always ordering salmon. You must have the healthiest heart ever!

I love the bedding too, but we actually went with light pink and white, and we’ll accent with gray. It’s a gray, pink, and white theme I guess! :) And guess what? It’s salmon for dinner tonight. LOL.

  4. Love the crib so cute, but I think you should tell us the name :) .

Oh and looks like you had a great date night!

Can’t wait to see your brunch recap.

    Best,

    Leigh

Haha. I think I am going to keep the name a secret for awhile like we did with Michael…but it might not work out. I am so excited about it! :)
