Things I didn’t share Friday (1/10)

 Things I didn't share Friday 1-10

1. During my first pregnancy, I went through a major nesting phase.  Well, I thought it was major at the time anyway, but let’s just say, it was nothing compared to what I’ve been going through lately.  I don’t think that I could stop organizing and decorating even if my life depended on it.

2. One of my primary organization projects has been my closet.  I have been cleaning it out like mad, donating and consigning anything that I haven’t worn in the past decade, and I have a grand plan in my mind for some shelving and storage.  I’m at a place where I’d rather have higher quality clothes and shoes and less of them then tons of cheaper items that will just fall apart after one season.  We’ll see how that goes. By the way, the closet above belongs to Mariah Carey- not me.  A girl can dream though…

3. It is hard to believe, but I’ve officially been blogging for 3 years now.  I absolutely love how The Grass Skirt has evolved during that time and cannot wait to see what other things are in store for it!

4. My doctor called yesterday with the results of some routine blood work, and it seems as though my iron levels are a bit too low.  I was kind of surprised, but I’ll just think of it as another good excuse to O.D. on green smoothies.

5. Michael is going through that wonderful phase where he likes to throw everything.  We’re talking toys, sippy cups, food off of his high chair that he actually wants… You name it.  He throws it.  I can normally deal with constantly picking up after him, but I almost reached my breaking point on Monday while we were out grocery shopping.  I seriously couldn’t push the cart more than two feet before he’d reach back and toss something out of it.  It was not our finest shopping trip.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for visiting, Ashley! It looks like I’m going to enjoy reading your blog as well. :)

  2. Ahhh, the dreaded throwing phase. My daughter threw EVERYTHING, including her bowls and cups when she was finsihed eating and drinking. I will be praying for an abundance of patience for you. If it helps, my son was not a thrower so I did not have to go through that phase a second time.

Haha. Thank you, Stephanie! Please tell me that the phase didn’t last for long. ;)

  3. Congrats on 3 years of blogging and many more years too!!! Oh No the throwing stage – better than the biting stage – still no fun at all! I have 2 dreams – a dream closet/bathroom combo and a dream kitchen some day:) Yes, a girl can dream! Happy Weekend:)

Aw, thank you! Have a great weekend. :)

  5. I am going through the nesting stage as well. Although it feels more like a “panic stage” at this point. I still have 9 weeks to go so I am forcing myself to hold off on washing all of his clothes and blankets….because I am paranoid they will get dirty/dusty?? Like I said…panic. We haven’t even had the baby shower yet so “nesting” so far is mostly just cleaning and waiting for the day I can start to put his stuff away. (And reading about newborn care and signing up for classes like a crazy person!) Ah! First time mommy! Your nesting sounds much more productive!

Aw. Trust me, I went through the panic stage the first time around too. It gets easier! Just remember that even though it may feel as though you’ll never get anything done once the baby arrives, you will. In fact, I was SUPER productive for the first 4-5 months of my son’s life because he napped so much, and I got some down time. It is harder to squeeze it all in now with the little stinker being so mobile!

  6. I remember that phase well :( My son went through it while I was pregnant with my second as well and while it wasn’t fun, it only lasted for a couple of months. I hope your son out grows it just as quickly :) Thanks for linking up with us for Social Media Sunday!
