Trader Joe’s Haul
This past Saturday morning, MT offered to stay home with Michael while I ran to Trader Joe’s. This was an incredible blessing considering how Michael climbed into the back of the cart during our last trip and nearly scared the “you-know-what” out of me in the process.
I was a woman on a mission and was in and out of the store in 15 minutes. It would have been even faster, but I was chit-chatting with the friendly checkout person. His best friend and college roommate apparently plays for the Carolina Panthers. I didn’t want to be nosy, so whoever that player is remains a mystery.
OK, enough about sports (a topic I know little to nothing about by the way) and onto food (something I could discuss for days).
Sesame Soy Ginger Vinaigrette dressing (Even though I prefer to make my own dressings, it is always nice to have some bottled ones on hand.)
Almond Butter (for smoothies)
Grated cheese (I’m making homemade mac ‘n cheese this week and needed this as a garnish.)
Marinated mushrooms with garlic (I love adding these to my salmon salads.)
Yellow & red peppers (I add these to salads, wraps, and omelets.)
Coconut oil spray (It is so much cheaper at Trader Joe’s than anywhere else in my local area, so I always stock up when I go there. I actually got two cans this time around.)
Butternut squash cubes (I add these to my omelets sometimes.)
Zico chocolate coconut water (obsessed!)
Romaine lettuce (This has been my favorite salad base for awhile, but I am starting to grow sick of it and need to switch things up soon.)
Organic popcorn with olive oil (This was my first time trying this popcorn, and it makes for a pretty good snack.)
Just Grilled Chicken Strips (I buy these as something easy and convenient to throw in salads and wraps, but I’ll be honest… they taste kind of processed to me now. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing them again.)
Turkey meatballs (These are kind of addictive.)
Sprouted rye bread (My favorite sandwich bread ever. I bought two loaves and have one in the freezer as a back-up.)
Frozen raspberries (for my smoothies)
Organic butternut squash soup (This soup is really good, and it was actually one of my cravings when I was pregnant with Michael.)
And that’s my loot! I might make it back there one more time before baby girl arrives, but I’m thinking this will be my last Trader Joe’s haul for at least a month or two.
Have you tried anything new at Trader Joe’s lately? Please give me some recommendations for my next visit!
