Weekend recap (Family of four!)
I haven’t done a weekend recap in a few weeks, but there was just no way that I could skip one today. It was easily the most wonderful weekend that I’ve had in my entire life, and it is all because it was the very first weekend that my little family of four spent together.
We were released from the hospital on Thursday (which technically doesn’t count as part of the weekend…unless you’re in college). Even though we had some wonderful doctors and nurses, I was just dying to get out of there as soon as possible.
It was such a great feeling to finally put Addison in the car knowing that we’d be bringing her home to her brother.
It also happened to be the 4th wedding anniversary for MT and me. Perfect timing, right?
Check out the beautiful red roses that he bought for me. They were on the doorstep when we got home from the hospital, and I was so lost in baby land that I thought they were flowers that someone sent for Addison!
The kiddos fell asleep in the car on the ride home from the hospital and really needed a good long snooze (especially Michael). So, we had a romantic Subway lunch in the car.
Michael was a little shy with Addison when we first got home, but he has been very sweet with his baby sister. It totally melts my heart to see them together.
Being that I get stir crazy when I don’t get out of my house at least once a day, we took family drives on both Saturday and Sunday. Again, it was so incredible to see both of my children snoozing away in the back seat.
We also took our first family walk, and let me tell you- it felt so good to get some exercise without 20 extra pounds strapped to my belly!
Aside from just settling in with the new little addition to our family, I also got to enjoy some wine with our Sunday dinner. At last!
Looking back, it was actually kind of a simple weekend, but it is one that I hope to remember forever because it marked the end of the week when my family became complete.
I hope that you had a great weekend too!
