Trader Joe’s haul (May 2014)

On Sunday morning, my husband gave me an amazing gift- the joy of grocery shopping without children!

Don’t me wrong- I enjoy the company of my little ones more than anything, but let’s face it, they do not make it easy or enjoyable to shop.

I saw it as the perfect opportunity to  head off to Trader Joe’s, and I stocked up on some weekly staples and long-time favorites.

trader joe's haul 1Honey whole wheat bread (for MT’s lunches)

Sprouted rye & wheat bread (my all-time favorite!)

Fire roasted red and yellow peppers

Baby bella mushrooms

Marinated garlic mushrooms

Zico chocolate coconut water

Pink sea salt grinder (The TJs grinders are the best.)

Clarified butter (ghee)

Grape tomatoes

Tomato & basil hummus (My favorite hummus ever!)

trader joe's haul 2Quick cooking steel cut oats

Blueberry pomegranate green tea

Apple juice

Pizza sauce

Panko bread crumbs

Grapeseed oil (I’ve been using this instead of olive oil lately and really like it.)

Unsweetened almond milk

Coconut oil spray

Air-popped popcorn  (This was just OK.  I prefer my Half Naked popcorn!)

Tri-color quinoa

Romaine hearts (2 bags)

Brown rice

Carrot juice

Frozen mango chunks

Whole wheat pizza dough

Salted popped potato chips (These are basically the Trader Joe’s version of Pop Chips.)

Wild arugula

I’ll probably get some more produce at the farm stand soon too.  Trader Joe’s is awesome for many things, but their produce isn’t one of them (in my opinion).

Have you been to Trader Joe’s lately? Find anything new?

  1. I love TJ’s! I didn’t know they made an Ezekiel bread knockoff..gotta go check it out!

It is much cheaper too. I think it is like $2.99/loaf which is great for sprouted bread!

  2. that is definitely the best hummus they have! i haven’t had those mango chunks in a while. need to go get some!

I had been out of them for awhile, and I forgot how great they are in my smoothies!

  3. I am hoping to go to Trader Joe’s for the first time, Monday, July 1.

I am very interested in the coconut oil spray. Can you please tell me how much the coconut oil cost and how many ounces are in the can?

Hi! I think the coconut oil spray is $2.99. I am totally out of it now and need to pick up more, but I am pretty certain that there are 5 pounces in the can. I hope that you love it as much as I do!
