Before I jump into the happenings from my weekend, I want to remind you to enter my NuNaturals giveaway. There will be four winners, so the odds of winning are pretty good!
Onto the weekend…
MT and I had a date at Portofino’s…again. We just love the low key atmosphere and the food so much that we haven’t had any desire to go anywhere else lately.
If you want even more predictability, I ordered salmon as my entree.
Maybe we’ll have to shake things up soon for the purposes of the blog.
We did start things off with some bruschetta for a change though. I desperately wanted to order it back in April when we went to the restaurant for my birthday, but with my pregnancy heartburn, MT reminded me that it probably wasn’t the best idea to have something so acidic. And when we went there a few weeks ago, I completely forgot to order some until our check arrived. This time, I came to the restaurant with bruschetta on my mind and pretty much ordered it as soon as we sat down at our table!
On Saturday, we went to Concord Mills because we figured that Michael would love to do some people watching. Naturally, I did a little shopping, including a stop at Yankee Candle. They were having a major sale, and I just couldn’t resist! I’ve been burning a candle that I bought in black coconut, and it smells so incredible. (Something tells me that it will be making an appearance in my Friday Favorites soon.)
We went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast on Sunday morning because I had a craving for their oatmeal (no, I am not pregnant again!). I don’t eat oatmeal too often, but I always order it when we go there. I don’t know what they do to it, but it tastes so much better than when I make it at home. I thought that maybe they use milk, but they don’t (I asked). I guess it just tastes so good because there aren’t any toddlers running around the kitchen distracting all of the chefs (I asked).
Michael has been an extremely picker eater lately, but he sure ate the heck out of some silver dollar pancakes!
The rest of the weekend consisted of wine, walks with friends, movies, a visit to the toy store, and more iced green teas from Starbucks. I am so excited about next weekend because we have relatives coming into town.
Have a great day!
