Weekend recap (Riverbanks Zoo)
It is so stormy and gloomy outside right now. It looks like night time! I am hoping that the darkness confuses Michael when I put him down for his nap, and it makes him snooze for a long while. 😉
Luckily, the weather was a bit nicer over the weekend (although definitely rainy here and there). MT and I agreed that we should take advantage of the fact that it wasn’t unbearably hot outside, and we went on a family trip to the zoo!
We’re really lucky to have access to some great local zoos, but our favorite is the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, South Carolina.
After a quick Subway pit stop (still love their sweet onion sauce so much!), we headed off to the zoo for the afternoon.
It was fun to see the animals, but the absolute best part was watching Michael get so excited about all of them….especially the elephants!
He was pointing and imitating them, and it just looked like he was having the time of his life.
If you live in the Carolinas or you’re just planning to visit, definitely go to the zoo. By the way, admission for kids under the age of two is free which is pretty great.
MT and I couldn’t resist buying a stuffed elephant for Michael as we were preparing to make our exit back to the car. Michael has been dragging the elephant around the house constantly since we brought it home. He’s actually doing so as I’m typing up this post.
Michael even insists on eating all of his meals with the elephant and sleeping with it at nap time and at bed time.
I’d say that is the best $16.99 we’ve ever spent!
Before I bid you farewell until Wednesday, I just want to thank you for your feedback and enthusiasm about my new mommy blog. I cannot wait for it to go live!
By the way, I am pretty sure that these weekend recaps will go on that blog instead. It just makes more sense being that they are so over-saturated with baby and toddler photos most of the time.
Have a great day!
