25 quinoa recipes you need to try

I’ve been a quinoa lover for quite awhile now.  I love eating it for breakfast, over a crisp salad in the summertime, and in soups during the winter as some comfort food.

Every now and then, I’ll hear someone say that they just don’t like quinoa (I’m talking to you, Marnie), and it completely breaks my quinoa-loving heart.

Yes, I’m exaggerating a bit, but it is my hope that the list below inspires even the biggest quinoa haters to give it another chance.

There are so many delicious recipes here.  You’re bound to find one that doesn’t make you gag- and even better, you just might find one that becomes a favorite for years to come!

  1. oh i’m definitely a quinoa fan. and i always seem to put black beans in it!

  2. I love quinoa because it is so versatile! It never gets old because you can always prepare it so differently! The quinoa crusted chicken sounds great!

  3. How do you make it (stove top, oven, steamer, rice cooker)? I like it, but I can never seem to have it come out right. I barely have rice down and I cheat by using a steamer. I think part of it is living at over 4000 feet elevation too – makes it a bit tricky to get the right ratios at times! Any information would be great – thanks. Happy Thursday:)

    • You can try toasting it in a frying pan for about 6 minutes in some oil before boiling it. It brings out the nutty flavor! You can also try cooking it in broth for more flavor. The most important thing about cooking it (and I just do it on the stove top) is to make sure that you don’t over cook it. After you bring the water to a boil and add the quinoa, turn the heat down to low and never cook it for more than 15 minutes. It cooks very fast. I hope this helps! 🙂

      • I appreciate the tips – thanks! I either undercook or create a mush mess. I will give it another go because it would be a great lunch item to break up the salads throughout the work week.

  4. I am clearly in the minority here with my Quinoa-hating ways. 🙂

Although, maybe I’ll give a few of these a try before I give up completely. It deserves at least as many chances as I gave cottage cheese!

  5. Yum! I LOVE quinoa definitely going to have to try a few of these. Great roundup Erin!

  6. So happy you shared these! Thank you. Love quinoa also. Needed some new recipes.

  8. I do not like quinoa either…with you her Marnie! But I did try quinoa fried rice (writing a post on it as we speak…)…O M G! Loved it! Since we’ve eaten 3 batches in 2 weeks, hubby has tasked me with finding other quinoa recipes I’ll actually eat. I’m nervous, but pinning your list!
