By now, you’ve probably heard or read about the potential link between Johnson & Johnson’s  talcum powder (which they no longer use) and ovarian cancer. What I find most upsetting about this story is that it’s about a product meant for babies.  If there is any category of products on the market that should be considered safe, it should be those for babies and kids.  Right?

If you go into a store like Buy Buy Baby or even just walk down the baby aisles at Target or CVS, you’ll see many different brands of baby lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, and body wash.  It can actually get quite overwhelming to the point where it is tempting to just grab products by the most well-known brands- which unfortunately aren’t always the safest options.

I’m spotlighting some of my favorite clean products today to make things a bit more helpful for my fellow mommies, and you’ll find many of these brands right alongside the more well-known ones!

6 clean bath & body products for babies and kids

Earth Mama Angel Baby

Product to try: Angel Baby Bottom Balm (This can be used on rashes, minor burns, and bug bites.)

Badger

Product to try: Badger SPF 30 plus Baby Sunscreen and Badger Baby Soap in Chamomile and Calendula  (The soap is very relaxing and perfect to use right before bed.)

100% Pure

Product to try: Extra Gentle Baby Bubble Bath (A bubble bath without any harsh chemicals is a total win.)

Buttercup & Jake

Product to try: Cocoa Calendula Balm (It has some antibacterial benefits thanks to the calendula. Oh and the packaging is pretty adorable.)

Babytime! by Episencial

Product to try: Soothing Cream (I use it to heal any chafing under my 2 month old’s chin, and it works like a dream!  We also use the Cheeky Salve a lot for any wind burn the kids get while playing outside.)

Dr. Bronner

Product to try: Pure Castile Liquid Soap (Baby Mild Unscented) (This also works as a shampoo, laundry detergent, and dish liquid.  Just be sure to dilute it before using!)

  1. Beautycounter also has a great, safe, baby line. I love the mission of the company and what they support, as well as the products! This is why I joined the mission and became a consultant.
