6 ways to instantly look and feel more refreshed

Do you ever have one of those days when you just feel…blah?

I know that I definitely do, and because I hate feeling that way, I always do a few little things to make myself look and feel a bit more refreshed and energized.

Obviously, showering, wearing something cute, and fixing your hair couldn’t hurt either.  After all, it’s hard to feel refreshed while wearing dirty baggy sweatpants while your hair is still piled sloppily on your head- although I’m sure Miranda Kerr still manages to look stunning that way.

But since I am most definitely not Miranda Kerr, I have to put a little effort into looking vibrant some days…


6 ways to look & feel more refreshed


Drink more water.

When we’re feeling tired and sluggish, oftentimes we’re just dehydrated.  Drink lots of water for an instant pick-me-up.


Use brightening products.

My secret weapon for looking more awake is Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes Inner Rim Brightener.  Under eye brighteners and concealers can also work wonders.


Add a little color to your cheeks.

I’ve professed my love for blush time and time again, but nothing makes a woman’s face come more alive than some nice rosy cheeks (and don’t forget to add a smile).  Cheek stains are my favorite products for achieving a natural looking flush.  This one by Josie Maran is fantastic!


Curl your eyelashes.

Some people find eyelash curlers to be a bit intimidating.  I’ll admit that they do look a little bit like mini torture devises. but I promise that you’ll see the value of using them when you look more wide eyed and awake.  My favorite curler is by Shu Uemura.



Believe it or not, studies have shown that people who exercise sleep better at night.  If you’re well-rested, chances are that you will actually look refreshed as well.  Regular physical activity can also give us more energy during the day and helps to prevent sluggishness.  Obviously, there are a ton of other compelling reasons to exercise too!


Dry brush

Dry brushing gets our circulation going, the blood flowing, and helps us to feel invigorated.  If you regularly dry brush each morning before showering, you will feel so much more energized over time.  All you need is a brush (like this one), and you’re good to go.


I’d also love to know what you do to feel reinvigorated  I’m guessing that drinking coffee will be a pretty popular response!
