April 2017 Favorites

Hi there!

I did a little online shopping in early April thanks to some gift cards that I received for my birthday- sometimes getting another year older has its perks.

As a result, I have a lot of beauty favorites to share this month, and next month will probably be similar!

This is not a sponsored post, and all products mentioned below were purchased with my own money. However, this post does contain some affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small percentage of the sale. Whether or not you choose to shop through them, I really appreciate how you’ve taken the time to visit my site!

LCOrganics Coco-Shea Whipped Body Butter

Made with Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, and Vitamin E, this body butter is really something special. Not only does it smell delicious (cocoa butter has been one of my signature scents for years), it is also extremely thick and nourishing and completely eliminates any traces of dry skin on my body.  While it is pretty heavy duty in terms of a moisturizer, it seeps into the skin pretty quickly, and I have not had any issues with it getting all over my clothing.

Jane Iredale Retractable Brow Pencil

I bought this because I read that it is comparable to the Anastasia Brow Wiz that I always loved so much back in my less green days. While I wouldn’t say that it is an exact dupe, it is really good and makes filling in my brows a bit faster than when I use my Eco Brow and an angled brush (though I still love that product as well).  The brow pencil holds up well throughout the day (even on the days when I was outside in the heat with the children for several hours), but I think I will go one shade darker next time (instead of ordering the light blond again).

Ilia In My Room (Nude) Lipstick

This just might be my favorite lipstick of all time. The pinky nude shade is absolutely perfect for daytime (especially during the spring time) and gives me that “My Lips But Better” look that everyone wants.  Even though it is pretty natural looking, I can build it up for a bolder pop of color as well.  I have so many lipsticks in my makeup drawer (and my purse) yet this is the one that I always grab!

Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream (Tinted) with SPF 30 non-nano zinc oxide

This was on my wish list for quite awhile, and I can definitely understand the hype.  This moisturizer feels a lot lighter than some others that I have used which will make it perfect for the summer time.  Even though it is light, it is still moisturizing enough for my dry skin and doesn’t make me look too shiny or oily.  It is also an excellent primer for foundation and helps my makeup to go on smoothly.

Josh Rosebrook Cacao Antioxidant Mask

This mask smells like chocolate, so upon opening the container, it was already a winner in my book.  But the amazingness of this mask goes way behind the scent.  It makes my skin feel so soft and refreshed, manages to make my pores appear smaller, and I am pretty sure that I have this mask to thank for my clear skin situation.  It is suitable for all skin types because it isn’t drying, irritating, or too rich.  It is just…perfection.

Lily Lolo Laid Bare Eye Shadow Palette

This kind of reminds me of a combo of some of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes- and I should know, as I used to own three of them.  My favorite color to use in the palette so far is Au Naturel, a shimmery, pink nude that looks great on its own for a natural daytime look.

Velvet Rope Eau De Parfum

I used to wear perfume every day, but since going green, I’ve avoided wearing perfumes (which are basically hormone disrupters in a bottle).  But every now and then, I really want to wear a fragrance- especially on date nights or when I am getting dressed up to go out.  This scent is spicy, sexy, and warm.  I’d say that it is probably more of a fall/winter scent, but I love it so much that I’ll continue to wear it year round.  Just know that the scent doesn’t linger for a long time, so you’ll want to toss it in your purse to reapply.

Simple Truth Raspberry Hibiscus Kombucha

I realize that we have a “One of these things is not like the other” situation here, but I had to include this kombucha because I have been drinking it every single day for a few weeks now.  It is so good that it almost tastes like juice!  If you do not typically like kombucha, look for this one in the grocery store.  You just might love it too!

Let me know if you’ve tried any of the things that I wrote about today.  I always love to read your thoughts!
