From the very moment that I learned about Fitglow Beauty last year, I wanted to buy up the entire line.  After getting some extra spending money from Santa, I finally decided to splurge on things that were in my wish list for awhile.

Before I get into the products, can we just talk about the packaging for second?  It is so fun and kind of reminds me of when I loved the Benefit packaging back in the day.

The three products that I purchased were the Vita-Active Foundation, Vita Set, and Mineral Blush in Joy.

Vita-Active Foundation

This 98% organic foundation is best for those who are seeking lighter coverage.  As great as it is, I simply cannot wear it on bad skin days because it doesn’t hide all of my sins.  That being said, the coverage, while light, is beautiful.  It is very natural, slightly dewy, and doesn’t feel heavy or mask like.  I often feel guilty about wearing liquid foundation because I cannot shake the feeling that I am sticking a bunch of gunk in my pores.  But this foundation is actually good for the skin!

According to the Fitglow Beauty website, the foundation contains a mixture of vitamin C, botanical Hyaluronic Acid, and seaweed brighteners.  The Beta-Carotene increases collagen production and dramatically boosts skin’s ability to diminish spots, freckles, hyper-pigmentation, sun damage plus improve elasticity. Daily use leaves skin clear, smooth and radiant.  It can also reduce the appearance of freckles and sun damage, reduce inflammation (so it is great for anyone with skin conditions, such as acne), and improves skin tone and texture.

Vita-Set Powder

Vita-Set is probably my favorite of the three.  After using it for a month, I cannot see myself ever being without it.  As I wrote in my January Favorites, it is definitely pricey for a powder, but I truly think it is worth the investment.  It always sets my makeup perfectly, so it lasts all day.  It also controls shine like a dream without over-drying or appearing chalky.  The ingredients even protect against free radical damage and can boost collagen production!

Mineral Blush in Joy

I’m a blush junkie, and the last thing on planet earth that I needed was another one.  But I am weak when it comes to resisting a new blush.  Since I already had enough peach tones and light pinks to last for the rest of my life, I decided to go with Joy- a bright rose shade.  While it is a vibrant color, Joy is buildable, so if you go light-handed with it, it is very wearable for the daytime.  I do love adding a few layers of it though to my cheeks for a nice pop of color.  After using mostly cream and baked blushes for a long time, I thought that the Fitglow might appear too chalky and unnatural, but that isn’t the case at all, as it blends very easily.

The brand’s skin care products are rumored to be very good as well, so I’ll definitely be experimenting with those in the near future.  Please let me know if you have any recommendations!
