Big (or baby-sized) news

You may or may not have noticed that it has been ages since I’ve posted a new healthy recipe or since I’ve really talked about food.  I have also been posting a lot less frequently.

The reason is pretty simple.

You see, even though I normally love green smoothies, salads, and fish, these are the sort of foods I’ve been eating lately…

These are not exactly foods that a health blogger is expected to eat, so they made blogging kind of tough.

But once again, I have a reason for why I’ve been eating so many unhealthy foods…

I’m pregnant!!!!

(Due date: October 27th)

It was a rough road getting to this point (and maybe I’ll discuss it here in the future), but I feel so incredibly blessed and happy.  Words really cannot express my emotions enough.

Earlier in the pregnancy, I had horrible morning sickness (which, in my opinion, should be renamed to “all day sickness”), and I honestly couldn’t hold much down except for whole grain bagels from Panera.  I’d literally stock up at the beginning of each week with a baker’s dozen.

Luckily, the morning sickness has subsided significantly, and my cravings have taken over instead!  And in case you’re wondering- no, my dairy and gluten intolerance did not magically go away when I found out I was pregnant (although all of that bread and ice cream would lead you to believe otherwise).  I actually got pretty sick after eating all of those things, but once a craving kicks in, I’m powerless!

My Subway addiction has grown so strong that the employees there actually recognize our orders when we call them in.  I cannot even type out the word “Subway” without craving a sub…

Despite all of my cravings, I am finally starting to tolerate healthier foods again, which hopefully means that I’ll be a good health blogger again soon.

Even though this little nugget is obviously now a huge part of my life, I’m going to do my very best not to turn this into a baby blog.  I’ll just sprinkle some baby posts in here and there.  😉

To all those mothers out there, did you have any cravings during pregnancy?  Anything crazy?  Last week, my obsession was watermelon, but I’ve since moved on to peach salsa.  God only knows what tomorrow will bring…but I’m loving every second of it so far.

      Aw, thank you!! I felt so guilty about eating poorly at first, but when it is all you can keep down…you do what you have to do I guess! 🙂

  6. I am thrilled, thrilled, thrilled for you! Pregnancy was such a weird time for me with eating – I craved all fruit the first time and red meat/salty french fries the second time. Just go with your cravings for now, anything to keep the “all-day” sickness away. Congratulations!! You will be a beautiful, wonderful mommy.
