Birthday cupcakes and lizards

Happy Friday!

Today’s breakfast was much healthier than yesterday’s breakfast (though not nearly as fun and lacking in the Jenny department).

For some reason, I keep craving foods that aren’t in season (hence, the bowl of pumpkin oatmeal).  It has been kind of difficult to find canned pumpkin at this time of the year, so this craving better pass quickly.

Hopefully, this will be the last meal that I have to eat alone for awhile.

You see, Michael has been out of the country on business since Sunday afternoon (which is why I’ve had so many single girl dinners this week), but he finally comes home today!

I always hate when he has to travel, but I really hated it this time because he was away on his birthday.

I wanted to make sure that he had something fun on his special day, so before he left for his trip, I hid a present in his suitcase.  As a precaution, I taped a card to it that basically warned him not to open the gift before his birthday- or else!

And last night, I made some red velvet cupcakes (his favorite) Martha Stewart style.

I have to confess that I kick myself for not making something out of a box whenever I make a Martha recipe.  It’s always such a process!

My husband is totally worth the effort though, of course.

Apparently, Michael was cool with not doing anything special on his birthday, and he was perfectly content entertaining himself with a YouTube video of a lizard farting.

That’s right.  My husband emailed this link to me of a farting lizard at around 11 pm on Wednesday.

Personally, I prefer watching videos of laughing babies, but I have to admit that the lizard did make me laugh as well.

On a sad note, I have to take my dog Emma to the vet this morning because she’s been pretty sick.  I won’t go into detail because her issues are pretty graphic.

This from a girl who just wrote half a post about lizards farting…

Anyway, it doesn’t sound good, but I am trying not to worry until we have a diagnosis.

Back to a happier topic, what YouTube videos always make you laugh?  Please share!  I’m sure that my husband will appreciate the suggestions too, especially if they are related to flatulence.  😉

Have a great weekend!

(Next week, I’ll have some healthy foods, a weekend recap, and a giveaway coming your way, so stay tuned!)
