A look inside my son’s “big boy” room

A look inside my son’s “big boy” room

Being that preparing the nursery for baby #2 also meant switching Michael to a different bedroom, I decided to use the opportunity to make his room more “grown-up” looking. However, I use the term “grown-up” very loosely.  For one thing, Michael is only 15 months old, and for another, he still sleeps in a crib and has a changing table in his room (which we plan to convert to a bookshelf that matches the one you’ll see below). The colors that we used in his nursery were softer (think lots of pastels), but the...

I absolutely love adding little touches to my house to make it comfortable and inviting. That’s probably why I love spring decorations and household items so much.  They are just so colorful, fresh, and happy! Here are some of my recent finds…     1.  Songbird Summer Coir Doormat (The Company Store) 2. Fiesta Floral Pillow Cover (West Elm) 3.  Threshold Honeycomb Vase (Target) 4. Things I didn’t share Friday (3/15)

Things I didn’t share Friday (3/15)

Since I had so much fun participating in last Friday’s link-ups, I thought that I’d do it again today. It’s actually a really fun way for me to share all of the random things that didn’t make their way onto the blog during the rest of the week. I hope that you enjoy them! 1.  The weather has been so beautiful lately, and I’ve been taking afternoon walks with Michael as much as possible.  He seems to love them!  However, we were chased down by a stray Chihuahua on one of our more recent ones which turned our...

Weekly round-up (Valentine’s edition)

Weekly round-up (Valentine’s edition)

I’m kind of obsessed with Valentine’s Day. It has nothing to do with the chocolates, flowers, and cards and everything to do with the fact that I love decorating with pretty pink and red hearts. I mean, I can get away with putting out decorations like these for a solid month.  What’s not to love? Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, here’s the weekly round-up…love style. Posts from the week Weekend recap (date night minus baby) Kale beet salad and Flower Beauty cosmetics My current morning...

My favorite Christmas ornaments

My favorite Christmas ornaments

Since it is Christmas Eve, I thought it would be appropriate to share some of my very favorite Christmas ornaments with you today. Even though the tree doesn’t have a theme or anything, I’m sort of picky when it comes to the ornaments that I put on it and have a rule that the ornaments all have to be made out of glass (with the exception of one Lenox ornament). (We’re all anal in some way or another, right?) We do have a smaller tree upstairs where the “fun” ornaments are hung, including a leg lamp ornament...

Part two: Weekend recap (decorating for Christmas)

Part two: Weekend recap (decorating for Christmas)

I realize that it is Wednesday, and I’m still recapping my weekend. Basically, I was too tired yesterday to write anything.  I’ll blame it on the baby. Getting back to the weekend… Once Thanksgiving is over, I get right down to business and start decorating for Christmas. Unfortunately for MT, this means that he has to haul his booty up to the attic for all of our decorations. But fortunately for me, he is a great husband and only mildly complains about it. On Friday, I decorated our house like a crazy woman (while...
