Recipe: Chocolate Chia Pudding

Recipe: Chocolate Chia Pudding

My husband can eat dinner and then walk away from the kitchen for the rest of the evening.  I, on the other hand, view dinner as nothing more than a gateway to dessert. My dessert/post-dinner snack is usually something like popcorn, Greek yogurt with cinnamon, a piece or two of dark chocolate, hot chocolate, or chia pudding- which has been the case a lot lately. Chia pudding sounds kind of nasty, and I do have to say that it really isn’t the prettiest thing in the entire world. The texture even takes some getting used to. I realize...

Why you might want to reconsider your underarm products

Why you might want to reconsider your underarm products

A very good friend, who knows me well, sent me an email yesterday that included a link to a blog post that she thought I would be interested in. The blog post that I am referring to was titled How an Armpit Cleanse Can Save Your Breasts.  Once I got through my middle school-style giggle fest over seeing the word “armpit” in the subject of an email, I began to read and knew that I had to do my own post on the subject. Not to overgeneralize too much, but I think that women are especially impacted when they have a physical attribute that makes them feel self-conscious. Several months ago, I was personally dealing with some postpartum hair loss...

Review | ALOHA Whole-Food Powder (& Smoothie Recipe)

(Please note: While ALOHA did send me some free samples of their products, I was not paid to review them, and all opinions in this post are my own true thoughts about the brand and its products.)   Ever since I started The Grass Skirt nearly 4 years ago, I’ve received many emails, tweets, comments, and blog traffic from people who wanted to know how to make a grass skirt, throw a luau, or plan a trip to Hawaii. Well, for once, I am going to make all of those faceless strangers a bit happy while still pleasing all of my fellow...
