Healthy eats from the week & link love
If you’ve been reading TGS for awhile, you might remember my “healthy eats from the week” posts. Since I haven’t done one of those in several months, I figured that I’d do one today- in gallery style. As you can see, I enjoyed grilled chicken salads, quinoa, sliced veggies with hummus, fish, smoothies, and omelets this week. I’ve been on a big brown rice kick lately too. And for some reason, I have “rice, rice, baby” (to the tune of the Vanilla Ice classic, of course) stuck in...

Happy Friday! We have a lot planned for the weekend, so Monday’s weekend recap just might be a two-parter. My in-laws are coming over for dinner tonight, so I have some groceries to pick up and a house to clean before they arrive. Michael is sleeping right now, so I’ll have to get moving quickly before he wakes. (I love that little face.) Speaking of Michael and sleep… For background, he’s been sleeping in our bedroom in his Moses basket ever since we brought him home from the hospital. I’ve...

Happy Friday! Michael and I just got home from a little shopping trip with his grandmother (my mom). Our stops included Old Navy, Buy Buy Baby, and Babies ‘R Us. In typical grandmother fashion, my mother completely spoiled her grandson during our little excursion today. Check out this loot… And that’s not even all of it! Michael is my parent’s first grandchild, and it’s such a joy to see how excited they are about him. My mother has always been a very happy and cheerful person, but I am not sure...

I’m still waiting on Baby Turner! The little stinker is now officially two days late and must be super comfy in here. Michael and I met with our doctor on Wednesday though, and if I don’t deliver by Tuesday, we’re going to schedule my induction. So much for what the doctor originally said about delivering early, right? In the meantime, I’m enjoying little things like a spur-of-the-moment date with Michael the other night. And a visit from Jen and her adorable son Wyatt yesterday. They even brought me Subway! I love...

I’ve mentioned several times before that I pack Michael’s lunches for work (usually sandwiches on gluten-free bread). Not only does it save money, but it eliminates the annoyance of having to find gluten-free options on his lunch break. (Side note: Why are gluten-free bread slices so tiny yet so expensive?) Well, Michael forgot to bring his lunch into work this morning, so he asked if I wanted to meet him somewhere around noon. Obviously, I said that I’d love to meet him. I’ll never turn down a date with my...

Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. My due date is still over a week away, but because I know that I’m dilated and effaced, I’ve already grown so impatient and tired of waiting for that day to arrive. On Wednesday, my contractions started to get stronger, so of course, I was convinced that I was on the verge of going into labor. Michael had a rare spare moment in his work day to have lunch with me, so we met up at Charanda, a Mexican restaurant with nice and spicy salsa. I’m actually not normally a...
