Weekend recap (family fun at the zoo)

Weekend recap (family fun at the zoo)

I took a ton of pictures over the weekend.  In fact, I took so many that my iPhone actually begged for mercy and told me that I wasn’t permitted to take anymore unless I deleted some existing ones first. Anyway, here are some of the one million photos that I took… On Saturday evening, we had dinner outdoors at Portofino’s (which was preceded by a family shopping trip to GAP), and I ordered my very favorite salmon salad ever. Truth be told, I mainly order it because I love the salad dressing so much.  I’m fairly...

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day

For the past three days, I’ve been spending time with my family and enjoying the beautiful warm weather.  There’s been lots of grilling and our neighborhood pool is now open for the season. Yay! But today doesn’t only mark the unofficial start of summer… Fellow Americans- Let’s all take the time to honor those who have so selflessly devoted themselves to protecting our country.  I’m continually amazed by their strength and courage. Happy Memorial Day! (I’ll be back tomorrow with a weekend...

Weekend recap (my first Mother’s Day as a mommy)

Weekend recap (my first Mother’s Day as a mommy)

Mother’s Day is officially my new favorite holiday. Here’s a little recap…     On Saturday morning, I powered up for some shopping at the mall with a green smoothie while MT and Michael ran a top secret errand.     Let me just say that I had an absolute blast on my shopping trip! I got a lot of new things and cannot stop looking at everything. Later in the afternoon, we took a family trip to the farmer’s market where, you guessed it, Michael napped the entire time.     We loaded up on...

Part two: Weekend recap (baby’s first Easter)

Part two: Weekend recap (baby’s first Easter)

(In case you missed it, you can read part one here.  Also, I’m linking up for Mommy Monday today!)   Easter was filled with food and family time- just as it should be, right? Here are some of the highlights… The Easter Bunny came to see Michael for the very first time.   On Easter morning, I baked mini doughnuts to bring to my parents.  They made the house smell incredible!   MT, Michael, and I went to Toast Cafe for Easter breakfast, and I ordered “The Runner”…again.   Later in the...

Weekly round-up (3/30)

Weekly round-up (3/30)

I’m really looking forward to this weekend for two reasons: 1) Sunday will be Michael’s very first Easter and visit from the big Bunny. 2) MT and I have a special dinner date tonight to celebrate my birthday (which is on Monday). It has been awhile since I’ve gotten all dressed up or gone out in public without spit-up on my clothes.  I guess I should take advantage of the rare occasion and pick out something extra pretty to wear on our date. I’ll recap it all on Monday, of course!   Posts from the...

Cute Easter books for children

Cute Easter books for children

I’ve been reading some really adorable Easter books to Michael lately.  A few of them really have nothing at all to do with Easter, but they do have bunny characters in them.  I think that counts.  These are some of our favorites… (And I use the word “our” very loosely- considering the fact that Michael is only 5 months old.)       1. Duck & Goose, Here Comes the Easter Bunny by Tad Hills 2. The Story of the Easter Bunny by Katherine Tegen and Sally Anne Lambert 3. The Country Bunny and the...
