Life lessons from 90s television
My weekend was extremely low-key. The weather was pretty gloomy, so I spent lots of time inside doing chores and working on the blog. On those kinds of days, I always have old television shows playing in the background. While I was in the middle of a Charles in Charge marathon, I had a very random idea for today’s post. It’s intended to be completely lighthearted, and I hope that all of my fellow TV buffs out there enjoy it! The letter “R” on the gear shift does not stand for radio. (Full...

In light of the horrific tragedy in Boston today, it doesn’t feel appropriate to do a regular blog post tomorrow. source Instead I’d like to provide some information on how you can help. Find out how to donate blood here. Find out how to get involved with The Salvation Army to offer food and crisis counseling to the survivors and their families. How to offer housing to the victims who are stranded in Boston. The police ask anyone with knowledge of the attacks to call 1-800-494-TIPS. My thoughts and...

Every now and then, we’re reminded of just how precious life truly is (as well as the people who make it worth living). Back in July, I received one of these reminders when my cousin Danielle passed away very unexpectedly. When I heard the news from my mother, I had to ask her to repeat it twice. Danielle had sent me a message only a few weeks earlier. She was planning her wedding. She was only in her 20s. She was sweet, fun-loving, and vibrant. How on earth could something like this happen? It was just so...

Right now, I am curled up on the couch with my Slanket, laptop, water, and a stack of magazines because I am sick with a nasty cold. You’re very lucky that you cannot hear my annoying cough. I feel pretty rotten, but the recent focus on fall everywhere from stores to blogs to commercials to magazines makes me happy. As my personal pick-me-up, I figured that I’d make today’s post all about the things I love most about this time of year- even if it is still 80-something degrees outside, and I could easily still go...

I’ve discovered a lot of new blogs lately (well, blogs that are new to me). It probably has something to do with the fact that I’m into reading Mommy Blogs for the very first time in my life. One blog that I’ve been enjoying is called From Mrs. to Mama. Well, Becky (Mrs. Mama) is hosting a blog link-up today, and I thought it would be fun to participate by answering some of her questions. Here it goes! 1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed? I...
