Blogs I’m loving lately
Before I dive into this post, I’d like to wish my dad a very Happy Birthday. For his sake (and mine), I won’t reveal his age, but I will say that he looks very very young. Happy Birthday, Dad! *** I love reading other blogs, and I’m guessing that you probably do too. (Although if mine is the only one you happen to read, consider me extremely flattered.) Over the past few months, I’ve added a bunch of blogs to my Google reader. These blogs all relate to health, beauty, lifestyle, and/or being a mommy. I...

Time to play a little catch-up today… MT and I took Michael to his first pediatrician visit on Monday morning. It was so cute to watch him get examined, and despite the fact that the appointment interrupted his feeding time, he was such a little angel through the whole thing and didn’t make a peep. I was a proud mama. We left with a clean bill of health, and he’s looking strong and healthy. As for me… It’s already been one week (and a day) since I gave birth. Emotionally, I couldn’t be...

Be sure to read part one first if you missed it! The drive to the hospital wasn’t that much fun being that my contractions were coming on every minute or so. However, we were really lucky that there wasn’t any traffic at 11 pm, so I wasn’t stressed out about making it to the hospital in time- which had been a fear of mine throughout the whole pregnancy. By midnight, we were all checked in and settled in the delivery room. (Yay for pre-registration!) When we first saw the doctor, I was 3 centimeters dilated just like I had...

Hi there! As promised, I’m checking in today to share the birth story of my son Michael. My original plan was to make this just one post. However, it is difficult to type it all at once with a newborn. Plus, the complete slowly started to turn into a novel, so I’m splitting it into two posts instead. I promise that I’m not intentionally trying to drag this out or leave you hanging, and as proof, I’ll even tell you the ending up front… I have a baby now. ***** Wow. I still cannot get over...

Just 30 minutes after I hit publish on my post on Tuesday night, I started to go into labor on my own (even though I was scheduled to be induced today). The labor came on very quickly, and before we knew it, baby Michael Patrick Turner was born at 3:11 am on Halloween morning weighing in at 8 pounds 4 ounces! Our Halloween baby in his pumpkin hat I couldn’t resist checking in today to share the news and some pictures with all of you. I’ll probably do some version of a birth story in a few days, but until then,...

Hello, everyone! (The Lionel Richie pumpkin never gets old.) I just wanted to check in to wish you all a Happy Halloween… And to let you know that I’m officially scheduled to have the baby later this week!!! I obviously won’t be blogging for several days, but hopefully, I will have a little time to send out some tweets and maybe even post a photo or two on The Grass Skirt Facebook page. Don’t worry- the photos will be of the baby and not the labor. Thanks so much for all of your interest and support throughout my...
