Weekend recap (baby clothes shopping & date night)

Weekend recap (baby clothes shopping & date night)

Happy Monday! I had such a fun weekend with my two Michaels.  I took loads of pictures, so I’m just going to dive right into the weekend recap. We did tons of baby clothes shopping on Saturday for our baby girl, and we even scored some cute things for Michael.  I’m going to do a separate post showing what we got, but here’s a little preview…   Paddington Bear for Baby Gap Polka Dot Tulip Top   I could probably spend hours in Baby Gap.  Without a doubt, it is my very favorite place to shop for baby clothes. ...

Weekend recap (I’m an aunt!)

Weekend recap (I’m an aunt!)

This past weekend was nothing short of exciting, but before I jump into all of the really good stuff, here are some of the other bits… First of all, the weather remained extremely gloomy and rainy. When the grocery stores start to make cookie cakes like this one rather than birthday cakes, you just know things have been bad! MT and I had a little date on Saturday evening and went to a restaurant called Mickey & Mooch for dinner. It has been a pretty popular restaurant in Charlotte for years, but it was the first time either of us...

How to make healthy meal choices at a Mexican restaurant

How to make healthy meal choices at a Mexican restaurant

Hola! Last night, I met up with some girlfriends (and fellow mommies) for dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Charanda.  It is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, and I’ve never had a meal there that I didn’t like. It was so much fun to catch up with the girls, and being the wild and crazy mommies that we are (totally kidding) were we there until close. Apparently, we had a lot to say about the topic of poopy diapers. I’ve always loved going out for Mexican food- even as a child.  Unfortunately, it is...

Weekend recap (birthday bar hopping)

Weekend recap (birthday bar hopping)

This past Thursday was MT’s birthday, so I wanted to make the weekend all about him. We had some cake on his actual birthday, but I made him a special dinner (chicken Parmesan) on Friday night. On Saturday night, we celebrated by doing some bar hopping in the NoDa area of Charlotte. By the way, NoDa is short for North Davidson Street, in case you’re not from these parts and you’re wondering. We started off with a visit to Heist Brewery where we enjoyed a tapas style dinner, including fire brick salmon, forked-up ahi,...

Weekend recap (one with nature)

Weekend recap (one with nature)

My weekend was pretty nature-filled. It consisted of lots of walks, a visit to the farmer’s market, and even a movie about nature. On Saturday morning, I had breakfast at The Original Pancake House (not to be confused with the International House of Pancakes) with my parents before we headed off to the largest outdoor farmer’s market in Charlotte. In preparation for tomorrow’s post (hint hint), I loaded up on fresh produce and even bought some natural soaps for the tub- not that I’ve taken any baths in the past 7...

Weekend recap (family fun at the zoo)

Weekend recap (family fun at the zoo)

I took a ton of pictures over the weekend.  In fact, I took so many that my iPhone actually begged for mercy and told me that I wasn’t permitted to take anymore unless I deleted some existing ones first. Anyway, here are some of the one million photos that I took… On Saturday evening, we had dinner outdoors at Portofino’s (which was preceded by a family shopping trip to GAP), and I ordered my very favorite salmon salad ever. Truth be told, I mainly order it because I love the salad dressing so much.  I’m fairly...
