Lately…

Lately…

Lately…   (Salad with salmon from Newks) (Grilled chicken sandwich with fruit and a pickle from IHOP) I’ve been eating a lot of meals out. Lately… I’ve been enjoying the fact that Michael only gets up about once a night now. Lately… I’m sporting a new shorter haircut. It’s so much easier, and I can wear it curly or straight.  Plus, I don’t have to worry about Michael grabbing at my hair quite as much. Lately… I’m using the heck out of my juicer.  A post on my current...

Lunchtime check-in (soup & salad)

Lunchtime check-in (soup & salad)

Happy Thursday! It is absolutely gorgeous outside today here in Charlotte, so I took the baby for a nice pre-lunch walk. He smiled at me the entire time we were walking, and just as we were about to approach our street, he feel fast asleep. I’d definitely call that the perfect walk! Today’s lunch was pretty yummy, so I thought that I’d do a little lunchtime check-in. I made up a salad consisting of romaine lettuce, sweet potato, beets. baby bella mushrooms, walnuts, onions, and vegan mozzarella cheese by Galaxy Nutritional...

Favorite Things (Part 11)

Favorite Things (Part 11)

It has been ages and ages since I’ve done a favorites post, so I’ve accumulated lots of things to share with you today. I’ll also be putting up a special Pregnancy Favorites post very soon- and no, it won’t consist of doughnuts and Subway sandwiches (although it probably should…).   Earth Balance organic coconut spread When I first picked this up at Earth Fare, I didn’t really know how I’d feel about it, but since I love Earth Balance butter, I figured that I’d give it a try. ...

Window shopping & a new exercise companion

Window shopping & a new exercise companion

The other night, Michael and I were talking about Emma, how we missed her, how lonely the house seemed since she died, and how we really want our baby-to-be to grow up with a dog. We realized that we had two windows of opportunity to get a new dog: before the baby is born (to allow enough time for housebreaking) or a few years after the baby is born (because taking care of an infant and getting a new puppy would be a bit much). Because we’ve always loved them, Michael did some research on Goldendoodles.  After learning about all...

My favorite workout DVDs

My favorite workout DVDs

As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’m not exactly a gym rat.  I  prefer to workout at home instead with one of the many DVDs that I have in my video library.  It allows me the flexibility to easily squeeze in a sweat session whenever I have the time and lets me do so in my pajamas or mismatched clothing. Now that the winter is approaching, it can be difficult to find the motivation to get out of a nice cozy bed and into the cold just to make it to the gym.  So, I thought I’d share a list of my all-time favorite workout...

Jazzercise- No Legwarmers Required

Jazzercise- No Legwarmers Required

Recently, I was invited to take a complimentary Jazzercise class at a local studio in Fort Mill. I was really excited about it and jumped at the opportunity.   (Source)   But I had no idea what to expect. After all, the closest experience that I’d ever had to Jazzercise was doing Mousercise as a little kid in front of the television.     Anyone else remember Mousercise?  Didn’t think so. Anyway, there’s a misconception that Jazzercise consists of leg warmers, lots of cheesy music, and a less than...
