Clean Living All Stars of 2016

Happy 2017!

I hope that your New Year is off to an excellent start, and I look forward to helping you on your clean living journey and possibly to making it easier for you to stick to some of your resolutions. In addition to all of the green beauty and healthy living tips, you can expect to see even more home care posts this year as well as posts about the things that I use on my little ones.

But first, here is a look back at my all-stars from 2016- basically, the best of all the favorites that I shared with you during the year.  I continue to use each and every one of these things today and have repurchased almost all of them at least once.  I’ve already reviewed nearly all of these things on the blog before, so I linked the reviews if you are looking for in-depth reviews and explanations regarding what makes them so fabulous.

Enjoy & thank you for your continued support.  It means so much to me!

Makeup

Hynt Beauty DUET Perfecting Concealer (review)

The closest green version I’ve found to the MAC concealer that I used to think I couldn’t live without back in the day.

Antonym Baked Blush in Peach (review)

My go-to every day blush.

Glow Time Full Coverage BB Cream by Jane Iredale (review)

This provides excellent coverage for those days when I truly need it.

Lily Lolo Mascara (reviews here & here)

Hands down, my favorite natural mascara.  I never want to be without it!

Kari Gran Lip Whips (review)

You’ll want these in every shade.

In the Blink of a Smoky Eye- Eye Shadow Kit

Even though this kit is intended for more dramatic looks, I actually find many of the colors wearable for the day time, and in fact, I probably used the kit almost every single day last year!

Alima Pure Lumina Highlighter (review)

This gives me a glowing, healthy look but in a subtle way.

Skin Care

Jojoba (review)

Step one of my nightly cleansing routine.  It has become my very favorite oil.

Honey Love 3-in-1 (review)

This product is pure heaven and such a treat. My skin absolutely loves it!

Aleavia Clear Facial Mist (reviews here & here)

I use this mist every day to keep my skin clear and even.

Brija Cosmetics Turmeric Primer Serum (review)

This serum also keeps my skin really balanced, and the price is definitely right considering how expensive serums can be.

Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer (review)

This is probably my favorite sunscreen, and it provides an excellent base for my makeup.

May Lindstrom’s The Problem Solver

Pricey as can be, but worth the splurge in my opinion.  Even Gwyneth Paltrow claims to use it!

Hair

Innersense Pure Harmony Shampoo (review)

The best nontoxic shampoo I’ve used to date. It makes my scalp totally balanced, so I have to wash less often.

Health & Fitness

Lotus Wei Infinite Love Mist (review)

I simply cannot describe how amazing Lotus Wei is in one sentence.  You just have to experience it for yourself.

Neocell Super Powder Collagen (review)

Collagen in powder form is a million times easier to swallow than those giant horse pills, and I love how I can add it to smoothies, water, or even my coffee.

Joyous Health: Eat And Live Well Without Dieting (review)

Joy’s book has fantastic recipes, and they were so helpful to me this year as I transitioned to a plant-based diet.

Physique 57 Advanced Express 30 Minute Full Body Workout (review here & here)

My tried and true workout for keeping my muscles long and lean.

Home Care

Molly’s Suds 100% Wool Dryer Balls (review)

Since I discovered these, I will never buy dryer sheets again.

Norwex EnviroCloth (review)

And since I got these, I have not purchased a single roll of paper towels!

Food & Drink

Teapigs Whole Leaf Tea (Liquorice & Mint) (review)

My favorite tea- and I am in desperate need of some more.

That’s It Apple + Mango Fruit Bars (review)

These are the perfect, easy, convenient snacks!  I also like the Trader Joe’s version.

What were some of your stand-outs from 2016?

  1. Happy New Year!!!

I think the biggest health change for us towards the end of 2016 was stepping away from the deli meat for our bagged lunches. We have been making healthier salads and slow cooking meats like chicken and turkey instead. I actually feel better with my gut health too – Bonus!

    Happy Weekend – Enjoy 🙂
