DIY: How to reuse your wine bottle corks

How to reuse your wine corks

As many of you know, MT and I make a big dinner every Sunday night (usual steak or salmon), and we follow it up with wine, popcorn, and a movie. We have been doing this nearly every Sunday for the past 4 years, and it has become our little weekly tradition.

Needless to say, we have gone through a lot of wine in the past 4 years.

Several months ago, I started to keep the corks from all of our wine bottles (not just the ones consumed on Sundays), and I’d add them to a clear glass vase.  A few weeks after I started to do that, I began labeling the corks with the date and any special event that may have occurred on that day.

When we went to the Lionel Richie concert a few weeks ago, the bartender even let us keep the cork from the bottle of wine that we had there!  I was so excited to add a special Lionel cork to our collection.  I mean, what would the collection be without Lionel? 🙂

This is ridiculously simple, but it is such a fun keepsake.

(Obviously, you will also need a bottle of wine.)

Write any event of significance, who helped you drink that bottle of wine, and/or the month, date, and year.

Label the cork

Add the cork to a vase, a jar, or whatever container you’d like!

Let me know if you start to do this yourself, and have a great day!
