How I feel after juicing & drinking smoothies

I don’t chronicle every single bite of food that I put into my mouth on The Grass Skirt.  In fact, some days I don’t even mention anything that I’ve eaten.

However, I will tell you that I consume a green smoothie and/or a fresh glass of juice every single solitary day.

I’ll have the juice in the morning when I first wake up and the smoothie in the afternoon.

I’ve been drinking smoothies for quite awhile now, but it wasn’t until a few months ago that it actually became a habit.

In fact, I’m majorly addicted to green smoothies.  Hauling out my blender is now one of the best parts of my day (which is probably a little bit pathetic and extremely nerdy).

As of a few weeks ago, I started to replace my morning cup of coffee with juice (although I do drink coffee about 2-3 mornings per week).

When I started drinking green smoothies daily and finally dusted off my juicer, I knew that I was doing something good for my body.

But I wasn’t aware of just how amazing I’d feel as a result.

I’ve had more energy during the day, and I’ve been able to do more intense workouts.  My complexion is bright.  My nails and hair are growing like mad (I wish that I could say the same for my herb garden).  And I’m just feeling pretty great overall.

About two weeks ago, I met with some former co-workers for drinks at Cosmos and one of them commented on how healthy and glowy I looked.  It was pretty hot out that day, and we were sitting outside…so the glow might have been some ladylike perspiration.

Even so, I’d like to think that it was more than just sweat, and I’m going to keep on guzzling green sludge like a madwoman!

Have you made any healthy changes or additions to your diet lately?  Are you feeling or seeing any benefits?

Have a happy healthy day!

You should definitely try making the switch! It is difficult at first but before long, you start to crave the juice. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, almost married lady! 🙂

  2. What kind of juices do you make?
I always think about giving up my coffee, but then I think about all the great flavors in my pantry, and can’t bring myself to do it… yet.

I mainly drink a carrot-ginger-apple juice, but I plan to post my recipes on the blog very soon for all of the wonderful juices I’ve made. 🙂 As for the coffee, I had the same problem- SO many good flavors sitting in my cupboard! That’s why I allow myself to have a few cups a week. Some mornings, juice just doesn’t cut it! 😉

  3. I really need to start utilizing my juicer more often! I love my green smoothies too – but juice always gives me that extra boost! Thanks for the reminder! 🙂

  4. I haven’t been juicing, but I do love my green smoothies! This definitely inspires me to try juicing, though! I want to be glowy like YOU! 🙂

  5. I got into the habit of having a daily green smoothie last summer, but it’s so hard to do when it’s cold out! I am dying for a juicer though 🙂
