Favorite Things (Part 5)

Time for another Favorite Things post!

In case you missed them, check out posts 1-4 on my Favorites page.

The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder

I recently did a post about this book and some of its highlights.  Some of Kimberly’s suggestions may be a bit extreme for the average person, but it is still worth the read.  The book promises to help you get a youthful glow, banish acne and wrinkles, grow lustrous hair and nails, and eliminate belly bloat…without counting calories.  If that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will!

Barbara’s Shredded Oats- Vanilla Almond

Since reading The Beauty Detox Solution, I’ve been starting my days with a glowing green smoothie.  However, I do like to have cereal every so often.  One new discovery is Barbara’s Shredded Oats in Vanilla Almond.  This cereal keeps me full (which most cereals do not) and tastes incredible with unsweetened vanilla almond milk.  I really like how it is sweet but not too sweet (unlike many other cereals).

Dr. Praeger’s Falafel Flats

A reader recommended these falafel flats to me, and wow!  They are so delicious.  The ingredient list is pretty awesome too, especially for prepackaged foods.

Annie’s Lite Goddess Dressing

I’m still a sucker for the full fat version, but this lightened up counterpart is pretty close to the real thing.  In fact, I go through a bottle of this dressing a week.  At least.  I honestly cannot get enough of it!

 NuNaturals Liquid Stevia

A lot of people think that stevia is bitter- and certain brands certainly can be.  I usually buy mine at Trader Joe’s, but another brand that I love is by NuNaturals.  Of all the brands I’ve tried, this is by far the least bitter.  I keep a bottle in my purse, in case I need it when I am at a restaurant or traveling.  If I am ever without it though, I always use real sugar rather than Equal, Sweet ‘n Low or Splenda.  Those guys are bad news!

Not sure if you have a Harris Teeter in Charleston, but I buy mine there…and it is on sale right now! 🙂

  2. I just won some NuNaturals stevia off a giveaway. I don’t know much about it though… is it considered an artificial sweetener? Will you still eat it when you’re pregnant?

I think that NuNaturals stevia is probably perfectly safe for pregnancy. It isn’t filled with chemicals like most artificial sweeteners. I am obsessed with the NuNaturals right now!

  3. I am obsessed with Kimberly Snyder’s book…it has completely changed my life and how I prepare and plan my meals. I at first wasn’t sure if I could follow such a plan but I figured I had nothing to lose (except weight) by eating more greens and following her philosophies and it turns out I felt so amazing I kept going with it and don’t ever want to go back to my old ways of eating. I’ve been on the plan for about two months and have lost about 15 lbs, don’t feel hungry throughout the day, and have more energy than I have ever had. I highly recommend this book and Kimberly’s blog.

So glad that you’ve had success with the book too! I love Kimberly and religiously read her blog and follow her on Facebook. I’m like a groupie. 🙂
