I am a little late, but…
I hoped to get this post up last week, but thanks to my kids, I had a nasty case of pink eye and felt pretty gross and unmotivated. Now that I no longer look like some Greek mythology character, I am feeling like myself again and ready to share my February favorites!
I used a Venus razor for years and years and loved it, so I was kind of nervous about switching to something else. I really thought that I’d be a bloody cut up mess after using the Preserve brand, but it is surprisingly amazing and probably my new all-time favorite. I haven’t gotten even a single scrape, and it gives a very smooth shave. The razors are made of recycled yogurt cups, easy to grip, and recyclable. Both men and women can use them with great results, which I love. You can also buy replacement blades pretty inexpensively.
Like many places in the U.S., we’ve had some crazy weather down south lately. One day I am at the park in shorts and the next I am in my boots and my Patagonia jacket. Because of this wacky weather, my lips have been very very dry, and I’ve turned to the Rallye Balm to get the situation under control. I’ve been a fan of the balm for awhile actually. It is completely gluten free and contains castor seed oil and vitamin E to really nourish and hydrate. Even though it contains such moisturizing ingredients, it is actually extremely lightweight and doesn’t feel at all goopy. It comes in stick form rather than a pot which I really appreciate!
The weather has also taken a toll on my hair, and when it looks a little dull, I just add a tiny bit of this serum. I smooths my hair out nicely and gives it a really pretty shine. Just be aware that a little bit goes a long way and avoid applying it to your roots- especially if you have fine hair like me.
I have two of these lipsticks in the colors Susan and Lisa. I find that Susan is a great peachy every day color, and Lisa is more of what I would wear in the evening. Both are insanely hydrating and creamy. They truly glide on like a dream, and I can totally see myself buying all the colors. (You can pre-order yours on Amazon, as they won’t be released until March 13, 2017.)
I have the shade Peaches & Cream and actually wear it as a highlighter rather than a bronzer because it is shimmery. A little down the bridge of my nose and on my cheekbones gives a beautiful glow that lasts all day long. (It comes out on March 13, 2017, but you can pre-order on Amazon!)
When I first heard about people eating watermelon seeds, I immediately pictured the black seeds that you’ll find in watermelons, and that didn’t sound appetizing to me at all. But the sprouted seeds are totally different. They are soft and chewy and actually really yummy. They taste a tiny bit like hemp seeds in my opinion (and I love hemp seeds!). I like to sprinkle the watermelon seeds in smoothies and on salads for extra plant-based protein and iron. Because the seeds are sprouted, they are very easy to digest. Seriously, try them!
