Flattering Blush Recommendations (Cream & Powder)

When it comes to beauty, most of us have our vices.  I’ve known women who have enough nail polishes to open their own salon.  I have a friend who is on a quest for the most perfect brows, so she owns nearly every brow powder, pencil, stencil, gel, and wax on the market.  And I’ve watched beauty gurus on YouTube who have enough foundations to cover themselves from head to toe for ten years without ever having to replenish their stock.

I have two major beauty weaknesses: lip products and blushes.

I’m definitely the woman who finds 16 lipsticks and glosses when she cleans out her purse, but I’ll discuss my very favorite lip colors at another point in the future.  Today, I’m talking blush.

Nontoxic blushes that are super flattering

I’ve never been able to resist a brightly colored cheek.  To me, there is just something so healthy and youthful looking about that.  It’s also easy to over do the whole blush thing, and I’ve certainly had my clownish moments.  That’s why I try to stick to shades that are natural looking and subtle, such as the ones you’re about to see here.

Obviously, you can let your inner clown out by building up the products, if you feel the need.  No judgment here.

RMS Lip 2 Cheek in Smile

I had a brief stint as a redhead not that long ago and bought this shade after reading that it was flattering on redheads.  It absolutely proved to be true, but I’m also wearing it today as a blonde and happen to think that it looks pretty darn good.   I’d call it a peachy pink shade, but it’s described as “a modern sheer coral/pink with a slight 50’s feel” on Citrine Natural Beauty Bar which is a way more interesting way of putting it.  The color actually lasts pretty long without fading which is very impressive for a cream formula.

Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Sweet

This was featured in last month’s favorites, and I finally got around to ordering the full size.  As I said in my post, I love how fresh and bright it is for the warmer months of the year. It also doubles as a lip tint which is a very nice bonus.

Eminence Chai Berry Glow Mineral Illuminator

I was first drawn to this shade after seeing it on Joy McCarthy and immediately purchased it or myself. Chai Berry is one of those shades that looks slightly scary in the pan but ends up looking beautiful and natural when applied to the skin.  I haven’t been able to spot any noticeable shimmer in the actual product, but I do feel as though it gives my cheeks a little sheen.

Kjaer Weis Desired Glow

This blush is supposed to give the look of a subtle tan. I’d definitely say that it gives that healthy glow you get while on vacation- something that I personally have to fake these days. My favorite way to wear it is layered under the Eminence Chai Berry.  The effect is gorgeous!

Silk Naturals Petal

It is a really pretty, matte, light, pink color that is just perfect for the Springtime.  This blush is a dupe of Benefit’s Dandelion but with less harmful ingredients and a way better price tag.

Honest Beauty Truly Flirting

Truly Flirting is a universally flattering raspberry pink color.  You can actually see what it looks like applied to various skin tones on the Honest Beauty site which is a feature that I love.

Au Naturale Cosmetics Fig

Au Naturale Cosmetics kindly sent this blush to me, and when I first saw the pink/plum color, I thought that it might be too dark for me.  I was so pleasantly surprised at how subdued the plum was, and I’d actually say that this is like a loose version of Chai Berry.  By the way, I am loving the Au Naturale brand all around and will be doing a brand spotlight on it soon!

I’d love to hear about some of your favorite blush colors, so please share in the comments.

Have a great day!
