Friday Favorites (10/31)

Happy Halloween!

We’re taking Michael trick-or-treating for the very first time tonight, and I cannot wait.  We’re only going to a few houses (along with our next door neighbors and their son), but it should still be a lot of fun.  I’ll probably take a zillion pictures, so if you’re curious to see what my kids looked like in their costumes, head on over to The Mini Skirt next week.

Here are the favorites for this week…

Nona Lim Carrot Ginger Soup

Now that the weather is sort of cooling down in Charlotte, I have been in the mood for comfort foods such as soup and chili.  I really like the flavor of this soup which is kind of surprising since I am usually not really a fan of ginger.  This soup is warm, creamy (despite being dairy-free), and soothing.  The ingredient list is also very short with no funky additives.  A great find!

Bath & Body Works Comfort Triple Moisture Body Cream

This body cream was free with a recent purchase, and I cannot get enough of it.  It is extremely moisturizing and has a warm scent with a hint of vanilla (my favorite scent when it comes to body products). Unfortunately, it isn’t non-toxic, so I won’t be restocking once I finish the tube.

Marula cleanser

Marula by John Paul Selects

I’ve been experimenting with different face washes lately, and this natural one by John Paul Selects is so luxurious, creamy, moisturizing, and nourishing.  It contains marula oil and aloe to help combat wrinkles and other signs of aging.

Broccoli, Love, & Dark Chocolate by Liz Pearson

I’m a sucker for health books, and this one by Liz Pearson is a new favorite.  It is lighthearted, fun to read, contains inspirational and sweet little life lessons and quotes, and features lots of delicious recipes (can’t wait to try the Mushroom Quinoa Risotto!).  What I love best is that it isn’t too scientific and serious.  The book breaks down why certain foods and lifestyle choices are good for us in a way that is engaging and easy to comprehend.  A must read for any health fanatic!

My Son

Yes, it is kind of strange to include a person in my weekly favorites, but since today is Michael’s 2nd birthday, I just had to include him.  For the record, my family has a permanent spot on my lists.  I absolutely cannot believe how quickly my little boy is growing up, and somehow I grow to love him more and more each day.  He’s not just a favorite.  He’s my everything.

What (or who!) is on your list of favorites this week?  Are you dressing up for Halloween?

Have a great weekend!
