Friday Favorites (5/29)

Happy Friday!

This week, I have some new things and an old favorite to share with you.  I look forward to reading comments about what is on your favorites list this week!

Review of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing

The title of this book is very suitable because the book truly is life-changing- and I imagine that it would have an even greater impact on someone who is disorganized or has accumulated a lot of clutter.  The basic concept is that we should only keep items in our home that bring us joy.  It also teaches how to fold and organize clothing, how to respect our possessions, and so much more.  Plus, it is a very quick read.  I finished the entire book in just a couple of hours.  Warning:  Unless you can function on little to no sleep, I do not recommend reading this before bed.  I made the mistake of reading it before bed and couldn’t sleep for almost the entire night because all I could think about was how my socks weren’t properly arranged. Pathetic yet true.

Tahiti Island Dream fragrance mist

Tahiti Island Dream Fine Fragrance Mist

I rarely purchase body products from Bath & Body Works, but after smelling this body mist, I couldn’t resist buying it.  It has a light coconut fragrance that is just perfect for summertime.  It also pairs well with the coconut body butter from Trader Joe’s.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen SPF 45

I spend a lot of time outdoors, so wearing sunscreen is a must.  I always wear a separate sunscreen for face and body, and this one by Alba Botanica is my very favorite body sunscreen.  It doesn’t have that typical sunscreen scent, blends very easily into the skin, and always protects me from sunburns.   Compared to many other brands of sunscreen, it is also very inexpensive.

Pacifica Clear Nail Polish

Pacifica 7 Free Nail Color Gloss Top & Base Coat

I don’t often have the opportunity to paint my fingernails, so my go-to for keeping them neat and…uh…polished is simply filing them and putting on a layer of clear polish.  This one by Pacifica is my favorite because it lasts for a long time, isn’t highly toxic, and it adds a lovely glossy finish to my nails.  (For more of my most-loved non-toxic nail polish picks, see this post!)

Trader Joe’s Sprouted Rye Bread

I seem to get into a kick every summer with making open faced sandwiches by toasting this bread and spreading it with avocado, tomato slices, and pink sea salt.  I’ve been eating them all week long and just ran to Trader Joe’s this morning to stock up on more of this amazing bread.  It’s been such a longtime favorite, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Have a great weekend!
