Friday Favorites (6/12)

Happy Friday!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful week.  I’ve been really energized, and as a result, I have been writing and blogging up a storm.

For those of you who are mommies or are interested in reading mommy blogs, I’ve really been blogging a lot more lately on The Mini Skirt.  I am actually hosting a giveaway over there right now to celebrate the launch of my new online book store with Usborne Books & More (the cutest children’s books ever).  Be sure to enter if you have children, kids in your life, or even if you just love children’s books!

Avocado

I always feel a bit silly when I list a simple piece of food in a favorites post, but I had to give a shout out to the avocado this week.  I’d be too embarrassed to tally up just how many of them I ate, but let’s just say it would have made a whole lot of guacamole. I normally smear avocado on sprouted toast and add it to a salad or a smoothie, but lately…I just eat those babies plain.  They also taste good with a sprinkling of sea salt and some sunflower seeds.

Amy's Mint Chocolate Chip Dairy-Free Ice Cream

Amy’s Non-Dairy Mint Chocolate Chip Frozen Dessert

First of all, how did I now know about this stuff until just the other day?  Have a I been living under a rock?  Many of you know that I am dairy intolerant, so naturally, I’ve had my fair share of dairy-free ice cream in my day.  This brand (which is made with coconut milk) has to be my favorite to date.  The mint chocolate chip is the only flavor I’ve had so far, but I’m sure you’ll see reviews of other flavors from me very soon!

Mineral Fusion concealer

Mineral Fusion Concealer Duo in Neutral

This concealer has become my non-toxic alternative to my beloved MAC concealer.  I use the neutral shade because I honestly never know how to match my skin tone, but it also comes in cool and warm.  The concealer is very creamy and can be used to hide a myriad of sins, including under eye circles, breakouts, and red spots.  For anyone who has Celiac disease, you might want to give this a go, as it is gluten free.

Moroccanoil Treatment

Moroccanoil Treatment

A stylist used this oil on me last week, and I remembered how much I used to love it- especially the smell. My hair has been out of control lately with the humidity (don’t even know why I bother to do anything with it), and this has really helped to tame the frizzies a bit. I have the smaller sized bottle, and I see it lasting me for quite awhile because just a little bit goes a long way.  By the way, it is color-safe, sulfate-free, phosphate-free, and paraben-free.

Vega Protein Smoothie Choc-A-Lot

Vega Protein Smoothie Choc-A-Lot

My friend Michele introduced me to this protein powder, and I am hooked!  I usually add fruit and a bunch of other things to my smoothies, but I have just been using this powder, almond or cashew milk, and some ice these days.  The smoothies have been delicious, filling, and sort of like healthy milkshakes!  For those of you who are wondering, the protein powder is plant-based, non-GMO, vegan, dairy, gluten, and soy free, and doesn’t contain any artificial flavors or colors.

Have a wonderful weekend!

    • I have- especially on organic! Ugh. I’d still sacrifice some Tory Burch spending money for a good avocado though. 😉
