Health benefits of tea & my tea collection

Over the course of the past few years, I’ve really come to love drinking tea.

During the fall and winter months, I’ll usually drink a cup while cooking dinner and another cup to go along with my evening snack (which, if you’re interested, is usually plain Greek yogurt with cinnamon, flaxseed, and raw honey).

MT has even started to drink it with me too, but his mug isn’t quite as pretty as mine.

The health benefits of tea are pretty incredible.  Just check out some of these little tidbits:

  • Drinking several cups a day has been linked to a lower risk of heart disease and stroke.
  • Green tea drinkers have lower rates of certain cancers, such as stomach and prostate cancer, as well as lower cholesterol and higher immunity.
  • Black tea helps to prevent cavities and bad breath.
  • Tea is loaded with antioxidants (especially white tea).
  • Tea is a good source of vitamin K, which is why it has been linked to lower rates of osteoporosis.

White, black, green, loose leaf, bagged, hot, iced…

I love it all.

I’m not an expert or anything- although I do have a super fancy tea box- but I’m going to share my little collection with you today anyway.

Out of everything, my favorites are the peppermint tea from Trader Joe’s and the tea from Harrods- mostly because MT bought it for me in London.  🙂

My all-time favorite tea is the Tazo vanilla rooibos from Starbucks, but I’m all out of it.  I need to fix that ASAP!

Do you drink tea?  What are some of your favorites?  I’d love some new suggestions.

Have a great day!
