I Dig Your Blog & Larabar Giveaway Winner

Last week, my dear friend Brittney nominated me for the “I Dig Your Blog” award.  This means, I have to name 3 random facts about myself and nominate 5 other bloggers.  I’m worried that revealing too much more about myself might scare you all off, but here it goes!

I can recite all 50 prepositions is alphabetical order.

As an adolescent and pre-teen, I went to a strict private elementary school that really placed an emphasis on grammar.  My entire 7th grade class was forced to memorize all of the prepositions in the English language alphabetically and recite them aloud to our teacher.  I can still recite them to this day, and so can a lot of my former classmates…

aboard, about, above, across, after, against, along, amid, among, anti, around, as, at, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, besides, between, beyond, by, despite, down, during, except, excepting, excluding, following, for, from, in, inside, into, like, near, of, off, on, onto, opposite, outside, over, past, per, plus, round, save, since, than, through, to, toward, towards, under, underneath, unlike, until, up, upon, versus, via, with, within, without

It’s a fun hidden talent to whip out at parties!

Just kidding, of course. I promise that if you ever invite me to a party, I will control myself and will not bore your guests with grammatical games. 😉

I’m obsessed with Pinterest.

Seriously, I have an addiction to pinning.  I cannot stop!  Since I started using Pinterest, I’ve made some really cute new decorations for my house.  You can find such inspiring ideas on there!

Don’t even get me started on all of the recipes I’ve discovered.  I have entire boards dedicated to things I want to eat, recipes I plan to make, cookies, and cupcakes.

I’m very superstitious about having to make my bed.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a superstition that if I don’t make my bed I’ll have a bad day.  Perhaps my parents brainwashed me as a child? 😉

However this superstition started, it has stuck with me.  Even when I take off our sheets to throw them in the wash,  I still make up the bed.   Sometimes I’ll even make the bed before the maid comes when I am staying at a hotel.   I’m a bed-making fool.

Well, you now know 3 random things about me.  The following five wonderful bloggers are up next:

And now onto the part that you’ve all been waiting for patiently…

The winner of the Larabar giveaway is Cheryl!  Congratulations, Cheryl! Please send me an email (easturner@gmail.com) with your mailing address.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Haha I can recite the prepositions, too! But we had a song, and yours aren’t in the same order as mine so I’m guessing you didn’t have the cool song. I’ll have to teach it to you 😉

  2. You forgot to mention that not only can we recite all the prepositions but can also do so in record speed! In fact, I can’t actually remember them all if I try to do it slowly 🙂

  3. Oh..thank you so much…I’m honored…I needed a fun idea for a post! You’re the best…went to a NYC blogger meetup this weekend and told everyone about your blog!! Have a great week!

  5. I have never heard of that bed-making superstition before, but I love love it. And I plan on using it on my fiance 🙂

Ha! Let me know if it works! My husband is usually up after me, so he makes the bed up most of the time. He is very aware of my superstition and that fact that his wife is a little nutso. 😉
