January 2016 Favorites
To be honest, I didn’t have access to many of my things this month because so much of what I own was packed up in boxes due to our move. However, I did make sure to keep out some essentials- especially things are were convenient, fast and easy to use, and dependable.
So, that’s pretty much the theme of this month’s favorites!
It took me awhile to get the hang of this product. In the beginning, I used way too much and ended up looking like I was wearing a mask. Once I finally realized that a pea-sized amount was more than enough, it delivered a natural looking finish with amazing coverage. It’s such a convenient product to have in my makeup bag because it takes no time at all to apply. I even use my fingers! If you’re a low maintenance beauty who needs/prefers a bit of coverage, give this a go.
I’ve used my fair share of natural mascaras, and this one wins first prize in my book. It isn’t clumpy (though I do have to wipe excess product off the wand before I use it), stays on all day, lengthens, and looks completely natural and pretty. My only gripe is that it seems to be drying out quickly, but considering how you’re supposed to replace mascara about every two months or so, that isn’t such a big deal.
The cold weather has made my skin a little dry and scaly, but this scrub does an amazing job of sloughing off dead skin cells. The added bonus is that it smells fantastic and makes my body feel silky smooth. It has been a favorite for years and will pretty much remain a favorite for life.
I’ve been following my body scrub with this body butter by The Raw Spa. Made with nourishing seed oils, it is seriously creamy and melts right into the skin. If you suffer from dryness during the winter, you’re skin will probably drink this up. You can expect to see a full feature on this brand here very soon!
When you’re unpacking boxes, you don’t really have time to fuss with lipstick, but I am the sort of person who always has to wear some kind of lip product or else I basically feel naked. These Lip Whips are awesome because I can apply them without a mirror, and they provide a subtle hint of color. They’re also really moisturizing, so my lips haven’t been getting chapped from the cold.
I know that drinking water is important, but I get bored of it very easily and sometimes find it a chore to drink the proper daily amount. La Croix is such a fun way to mix things up a bit, and right now, I’m loving the passionfruit flavor. FYI- Target has the best La Croix selection ever.
This workout was a favorite several years ago, and I am so happy that I rediscovered it this month. It is the perfect full body workout when I am short on time. And with three kids, you never know how much time you’ll have! The Physique 57 workouts are effective when it comes to strengthening and lengthening, and if you are into the look of long lean muscles like a ballerina has, this is the workout for you!
I’ve also been eating Larabars like crazy, but those are always a favorite. What are some of your favorites from January? Any at home workouts that I should try?
