July 2015 Favorites
It feels really good to sit down to blog this morning. I have definitely missed it this past week or so. But with preparing for a move, keeping my current house constantly show ready, being a full-time mommy (Is there any other kind?), and lots of fun social engagements, blogging kind of got pushed to the side.
I do have a lot of fun posts planned for the next few weeks though, so I hope you’ll stick around- even if things are a little sporadic for awhile. (Side note: I cannot hear the word “sporadic” without thinking of the movie Clueless. Anyone else with me on that?)
I kept track of all of my favorite items throughout the month of July, and I actually prefer this method versus sharing them weekly, as I have done in the past. It gives me more time with each product and really helps me to make more thorough reviews of each one.
I’ve been getting a lot of comments about my pregnancy glow lately, and I am not ashamed to admit that I think the glow is mostly due to this CC cream. To me, the glowing skin is just an added bonus to all of the other benefits, such as great coverage, evenness, and sun protection. It makes me morning makeup routine so fast and simple- which is worth the price of the bottle alone!
OK, this is kind of a cheat because I mentioned it in the last weekly favorites that I did, but I just had to bring it up again because I have truly been using it every day. I love the ease, the hydration, and the color so much.
I’ve been on a total kick of eating zoodles (zucchini noodles), and it is all made possible by this little gadget. It is the easiest thing in the world to use and clean. I actually had it for months and months before I ever opened the package because I thought it would be really complex. When I think of all the zoodles that I could have made during that time… Making zoodles is really simple, but if you want to see a post about how I make mine, let me know, and I will deliver!
Even though I do not follow the Paleo diet, Steve’s Paleo Goods kindly sent me a box of their snacks to try last month- and I happily dug right into it. My very favorite thing out of everything that I sampled was the dried strawberries. Oh, my goodness. They were so addictive! Don’t expect them to be crunchy like chips. They are soft, chewy, and as I already mentioned, addictive! There are so many products to choose from, such as jerky (also very good), other dried fruits, granola (which was incredible!), and even condiments. If you’re Paleo or just like sampling new healthy foods, try Steve’s! By the way, the Company is based on helping at-risk youth realize their potential through fitness, nutrition, and leadership skills, and 15% of all profits goes to support Steve’s Club, a national training program for at-risk youth.
While I am not always consistent about using it, I have been pretty devoted to using Cronometer to track my meals and workouts. I find that it really helps me to ensure that I am getting the proper amount of nutrients during my pregnancy. I also really like how I can link it to my Fitbit profile!
I’ve been a fan of Chris Powell’s show Extreme Weight Loss for awhile now, and throughout the show’s run, his wife Heidi has become more and more of a staple. She has also become one of my biggest fitness role models, and I follow her blog for inspiration, recipes, and even some beauty info. I really relate to her because she is also a mom, and she understands the challenges that motherhood can present as far as maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I basically just think she ‘s awesome, and you should definitely visit her blog.
Please share some of your favorite things from the month of July!
